Wouldnt it make more sense for you to ask them(Maxis/DiGi) directly than ask here? Are you expecting a horde of folks with similar problems as yours and hoping they can answer you? Which means that you're hoping that they also face the same hardware related problem as yours? Are you wishing ill on them?

No wonder Maxis/DiGi happy, they dont even have to come up with after-sale support, when people like you come here for Support related matters.shakehead.gif Their support team can kerja goyang kaki like this!

Thread reported. This can either be posted in the Maxis iPhone thread, or better still, head to Maxis/DiGi instead of fishing for a response/advice here.

Sometimes I wonder if common sense doesn't come to play to some folks. Or is that a gene only activated for certain people only.

dude just chill man. he is not wishing the same for other readers here. he's just wondering whether it wud take time for maxis/digi to get his phone repaired. bcos if it does, i guess he wudnt mind compromising with the minor fault that he is facing right now. doh.gif

this is a forum so i think its fine for forumers to query abt anything relevant. notworthy.gif

i agree with stringfellow. the thing is, even if anyone replies here saying it will take X days to repair etc, it's unlikely to be correct anyway. imagine some person say it'll take 3 days, but end up TS need to wait for 3 weeks...

better juz directly ask the people who are going to handle the repair/replacement

Is it cheaper to buy outright and get a normal plan or get plan and phone from maxis? (taking into account data, etc.)

very hard to answer. generally, cheaper to get with plan. how much do you spend (ur bill or total topup) in one month? and for what? compare it with the plans and see which would be more suitable for you. remember to think long term. microsoft excel can help you smile.gif

example, im using maxis ivalue1 here, 24 months contract. so in 24 months, i'll be paying rm1390+24*(100) = rm3790

say i wanna buy it outright, using value50 and i only need 500mb data per month. so after 2 years, total im paying is 2290+24*(50)+24*(58) = rm4882. much more expensive

but take a look at ur past usage smile.gif based on my previous bills, i know ivalue1 is good enough for me and i had been using value50 before. this is just me though, no point juz following other ppl's views

Just called Maxis. All you need to do is to bring back everything in the box, ur iphone4, and the proof of purchase and tell them whats wrong.

There's none, they will ask u to place your name then when the stock arrive they will call you and go there to line up wee hours in the morning... they only release a few units per day unless you have insider working in Maxis or Digi, yes they do keep stock but won't sell for normal walk-in. I got mine within 1day tongue.gif just go and collect but full payment on phone

I just walked in to few maxis center
They said they dont take reservation now, only walk-in by 10am every day during the store opens to purchase the limited stocks.

Even like machines they all also no stock, they will advise us to buy from maxis.

Yeah they don't that's why they want you to go and line up in the morning. You're lucky if you happen to know some insider in Maxis whistling.gif

Not recommend you buy from US.
First, US iPhone is locked set. Which means can only use with local network (AT&T).
To use in Malaysia, you'll need to jailbreak and unlock, which will cause you some trouble.
And, you cannot update the firmware as you wish, as updating will cause the device being LOCKED again (and you need to unlock again).
No international warranty. If you buy at US, you'll have to claim warranty at the country you bought the iPhone, which is US.
Save your trouble, get local set (DiGi or Maxis). smile.gif

And please, read before post. The answer is already given in this very same topic, first page, section

Sim free means you can use the iPhone with any telco. Like the one sold by our local telco (Maxis & DiGi) is Sim free. You may use any sim card you want. They are official unlocked version.
