hey guys.
was planning to get an iphone4 soon (maybe next month or so). for me, i don't really make much calls (less than 60minutes a month), mostly smses (average 300-500 a month to different telco) and mms (1 or none a month). so i decided to purchase the iphone4 without digi or maxis plan because i think that its not worth to pick a plan as my usage isnt that beneficial for me. therefore, i'd like to ask whether is my decision right? and if i would purchase a non contract iphone4, should i get it at maxis centre or those shops that sell iphone? but if i purchase the iphone out of maxis, i wouldn't get the free one-year data. and as i've checked, shops that sell iphone usually sell at higher price rather than the RRP price which is rm2290 for 16gb and rm2690 for 32gb. hope someone could help me to make a right choice. thanks This post has been edited by mieeshell: Feb 7 2011, 06:20 PM |

QUOTE(derekdiong1 @ Feb 3 2011, 07:34 PM) should be launching in june. expect to reach malaysia maybe september/octoberQUOTE(mieeshell @ Feb 6 2011, 10:08 PM) hey guys. ur usage seems quite high to me haha. like this lah, assuming u're using postpaid...how much is ur bill per month? take that number, add the cost of a data plan (u need one, dun tell me u dont) whichever u think is appropriate n total it up. take that number, multiply by 12 or 24 months, then add the RRP iphone pricewas planning to get an iphone4 soon (maybe next month or so). for me, i don't really make much calls (less than 60hours a month), mostly smses (average 300-500 a month to different telco) and mms (less than 5 a month). so i decided to purchase the iphone4 without digi or maxis plan because i think that its not worth to pick a plan as my usage isnt that beneficial for me. therefore, i'd like to ask whether is my decision right? and if i would purchase a non contract iphone4, should i get it at maxis centre or those shops that sell iphone? but if i purchase the iphone out of maxis, i wouldn't get the free one-year data. and as i've checked, shops that sell iphone usually sell at higher price rather than the RRP price which is rm2290 for 16gb and rm2690 for 32gb. hope someone could help me to make a right choice. thanks next, browse maxis/digi website, find a plan that suits ur usage (focus on calls n sms). calculate how much u'll pay in the course of 12/24 months for everything then just pick whichever is cheaper (assuming both network performance is good in ur area) |

if u think buying from forum is risky and dont want to bind to maxis/digi contract, http://www.apple.com is the best for you.

Difficult to recommend lar... If now recommend you buy 16GB one later you find not enough you come blame me how Money wise lar... depends on your budget lor... For me 16GB is more than enough, I only sync about 1.5GB of songs, 1GB of photos, 4GB of apps and that's all... I don't really play those "big" games on iPhone... the screen too small and the gaming experience still not so satisfying la... LOL So I only play those mini/puzzle games and some useful/utility/daily apps on it... so basically they won't consume too much capacity... but... I'm using 32GB one... |

Objective: To buy iPhone 4 without any contract and used in China (GuangZhou) Confuses: I ask several experts and many giving me different answers. Some say we need to do jailbreak and unlock so that the phone can used in China Telco. Some say unlock is not necessary, it may compatible with other country. Some say to unlock the iPhone must perform jailbreak as prior. Questions: 1) Where can we buy iPhone 4 without any contract? 2) Do we need to jailbreak or unlock the iPhone so that it can used in other China Telco? 3) Can we unlock the iPhone without jailbreak? If yes, how? |

1. only from Maxis. even then, many places prefer to sell with contract, cos they get commission for that.
2. Not for Malaysian iPhones. 3. no. |
