How to change the background?
*
lol.. U can change background by scrolling all the way in TF3D to settings, and change Wallpaper.

however, u could only change the background of the Home Tab for now.. there's a program being made so that u could change the background for all tabs on the HD.. smile.gif

My current setting using adv config are

Performance
File system cache enabled
File system cache size 8mb
File system filter cache 131072
Glyph cache 64kb

But If I use the HTC HDTweak, the advise setting is below:

Performance
File system cache size = Normal
File system filter cache = Normal
Glyph cache 4mb

So which is the correct setting?

I want to install Advance Config V3.3 and GController but it need Microsoft .NET CF 3.5.
Question:

1) If I installed Microsoft .NET CF 3.5, will it cause problem to my HTC HD?
Microsoft .NET Compact is needed for some software to run (yeah it's legit and won't harm your HD)

Microsoft .NET Compact 3.5

Install it on your phone (Internal of course, not Storage card)

plus get Hot fix to enhance response time for HTC Touch HD (official) Date: 2008-12-04 here

Oops...I have apply the hot fix previously and after installed the Microsoft .NET Compact 3.5,
do I need to run the hot fix again?

Note: I tried to run the hotfix but it say 'Incorrect version' after I use the Microsoft .NET Compact 3.5.

Well after a quick try, I can say that the sharing of internet over bluetooth from PC to HD is not that nice and stable... The speed is slow and u have to be close to the pc or laptop to get speed. It dc quit many times... And whenever HD goes into sleep mode. It stops the connections..

Well, this is what I did to get the connection:

1) Pair our device(HD) with PC over bluetooth. This must be done 1st before everything else can be set. ( to do this, please refer second part of this instructions)
2) At our pc, in the bluetooth Device setting/COM port/, click Add and select "Incoming". Click OK. Wait a while and remember the Port No. (i.e: COM port no 13)
3) Click OK at the bluetooth device setting window and
4) Go to ActiveSync (if u don have, download from Windows HERE
5) Click File/Connection settings and put a check on everything.
6) Remember to change the port no. according to step NO2 (i.e COM 13) and change the field for This computer connect to : INTERNET
7) Click OK.
8) Now, on your HD, go to Start/Program/activesync and connect via bluetooth.

Your HD will then connect the activesync via bluetooth with your pc's activesync. After established, your HD will now use the PC's internet connection. Tak percaya? shut off the phone signal or take your sim card off.. U will still get internet.. Hehe... Without charges maa...( I tried taking off the sim just to confirm)

_______________________________

How to do step 1?

1) On your PC, at control panel/bluetooth setting/device tab, add new device. Follow the instructions until your PC and HD is connected.
2) Make sure that on your HD at Settings/communications/settings/bluetooth/ .... click and hold on your PC name and edit it. There will be a field for Select services to use from this device: Check Activesync and click Save. Or else you will not be able to get the activesync service...

________________________________

Good luck. I think it helps once in a while whenever we are somewhere without wireless and there is a bluetooth enabled pc, we can use the connection for our own benefit. Sorry for the confusing instructions. I kinda had a 2 day confusing trial and error with this sharing functions... Keep exploring your HD and share info guys! thumbup.gif

btw, boo to HTC for not making the call, end-call, home and "ok" buttons and not touch sensitive ones. you just lost a potential buyer, me. laugh.gif

moreover no light on those indicators. -.-

anyways, saw it. nice piece of gadget.

Well.. it happened where sumtimes.. u go to your frens house. and found that his laptop offer bluetooth. And u need to access internet on ur mobile rather the laptop.... but you suddenly realize. no cable to attach with.. then bluetooth is a way.

As for me, my office does not have wireless point. So my desktop pc at my office have bluetooth plus the internet. I dun want to go around my room with wires attached to my HD.. especially leaving it around (RM3300!!!). So having internet over bluetooth is a real help for me. Dun have to buy wireless router at all for my office. Just allow the internet on HD and move around in my pocket while elegantly surf in front of my office mate who is now tempted to buy HD. hehe..

u can use WVGA Fix-3 when try to run the apps/games which do not support 800x480. It can change ur screen into VGA or QVGA. I use it to open SkyFire browser.

Hurm.. after trying back, I think that was the steps I did.. i dunno.. if there is anything I missed.. please add..

by the way, I just realized that.. when I opened youtube using opera by typing www.youtube.com... i can't watch the video.. so I looked up on the net and I had to install Flashlite 3.1 to play videos in opera web browser. Just thought that some of you might be interested.. hehe... Google it up and install..

(i was trying to access the 'other' Tube to watch video.. tongue.gif youtube link is already installed in HD.. not a problem for hd users.)

Hi BCWEE01 - Glad that I am not the only one who bought from PDArena!

I bought the same package as you for RM3,399. On the 2nd day of PC Fair KLCC. I am not as lucky as the other taiko here who got it cheaper. When I was there most shops I ask already sold out their stock.

I think we have to send the white color REPLY CARD in order to register for the warranty. there are 2 boxes to stick the black IMEI stickers on the card and mail to SIS (to register for 1st year warranty). This is so troublesome and as you know I dont trust POS Malaysia.

Other HD taiko users please share?? Do we have to fill the reply card to register the 1st year warranty??? If you have a different card that clearly says WARRANTY CARD - please share what color it is, even better if you can paste the picture here. I will go f@ck the PDArena guys.

I suspect maybe PDArena is not the main distrubutor of SIS (They are not listed in HTC's website where to buy list) that is why they dont have the extended warranty 1+1 package (my guess only). I checked with other shops around who sells HD - they also dont have the 1+1 SIS warranty as well. Maybe it is only in PC fair. I also took the MOBISURE/AIG Insurance for a damn $99!!

Anyway the phone is GREAT. So far no issues at all. Very elegant.

I don't think PDArena sells us the AP set or Demo Set. SIS stickers are everywhere. IMEI on back of the phone, the box and HD System all match, Sirim sticker is there and all the accesorries in the box are new with SIS stickers.

On the Mobisure / AIG extended warranty - I have no idea how to claim. Please share with me when u managed to contact the people. The red piece of receipt looks cheap though. And i am not very convinced.

Btw I found the Forms to apply SIS extended warranty card 1+1 package. However, the form requires the Shop's signature and stamp. I am going to PDArena in Sunway this weekend to get it done. Otherwise I will complain big time if they can't give me a good answer. I don't care about the Mobisure/AIG warranty already - better try to get the SIS one. If you are interested we can go together.

Cheers.

I've called the AIG Hotline, they just told me to refer to the person who sold us the Mobisure ie PDA Arena.

I got the mobisure for free without adding the RM99, but i've paid RM3399. Trade in my half working phone RM250.

Gilamabok where did u get the SIS Extended Warranty form ? i want it too....although i doubt i will keep it for 2 years, but having it is good assurance.... probably this phone will last me 1 to 1.5 years.... till another great PDA comes to the market...
