Added on December 10, 2008, 12:11 ambtw, found some issues with the HD.. if ur typing an SMS too fast using the full on screen keyboard, it freezes for a while.. and the other is sometimes the keyboard won't pop-up if u directly click "Reply" from the TouchFLO menu on the Home Screen..

ur an owner of a 2nd hand Touch Pro or Touch HD?

wei.. can, me and Paladin using the supplied screen protector.. will change ours when Digital Stuff gets their stock of better quality screen protectors.. btw, read somewhere that someone bought his Touch HD at Wisma Central for RM3100.. and also heard that PDA Expert at Midvalley has stock..

normally in pc fair u cant get much diffence on the price but u can negotiate with them on the freebies especially they wan to achieve their daily target in the evening..

for the extended warranty, u need to fill in a sis application form which called sis privileage card application (or some else), then after 1-2 months, they will send u a privileage card which will extend ur phone warranty, which also stated in ur application form clearly.

i went to pda expert, they dun have stocks, that was like 1 pm today, then went to pda arena, straight away bought the phone, 3399, with all the freebies, original HTC Car charger, in car holder, jabra blue tooth and 1 year extended warranty, dun think from SIS it is a company called Mobisure..... it is some sort of extended warranty insurance. Anyone of u got the same thing?

the set is ori SIS set

so in this case for bcwee01, the first 1 year is warranted by SiS Malaysia, but the subsequent is not..

so, the extended warranty is given by a 3rd party company instead of SiS.. how's the validity and reliability of warranty of MobiSure in terms of claims and replacement parts?

a reminder for all those who plan to buy the HD, next time be sure to check which company offers the warranty, if it's not from SiS, it's AP..
p/s: so meaning, bcwee01's set is now ori for the 1st year, and AP for the subsequent?

yes, i understand.. i'm talking with respect to the warranty issue, not as a whole importing issue.. if u buy from a shop that gives AP set warranty (3rd party company warranty) and getting extended 3rd party company warranty such as from MobiSure, isn't it almost the same?

so, if it's from AIG Insurance, what do they actually cover? are the terms the exact same thing as SiS warranty? that is the question here..

use coreplayer. still bit laggy sometime, but watchable. the best media player without re-convert the files (normally 350mb). i installed divx player and uninstall it soon after.

Hi BCWEE01 - Glad that I am not the only one who bought from PDArena!

I bought the same package as you for RM3,399. On the 2nd day of PC Fair KLCC. I am not as lucky as the other taiko here who got it cheaper. When I was there most shops I ask already sold out their stock.

I think we have to send the white color REPLY CARD in order to register for the warranty. there are 2 boxes to stick the black IMEI stickers on the card and mail to SIS (to register for 1st year warranty).  This is so troublesome and as you know I dont trust POS Malaysia.

Other HD taiko users please share?? Do we have to fill the reply card to register the 1st year warranty??? If you have a different card that clearly says WARRANTY CARD - please share what color it is, even better if you can paste the picture here. I will go f@ck the PDArena guys.

I suspect maybe PDArena is not the main distrubutor of SIS (They are not listed in HTC's website where to buy list) that is why they dont have the extended warranty 1+1 package (my guess only). I checked with other shops around who sells HD - they also dont have the 1+1 SIS warranty as well. Maybe it is only in PC fair. I also took the MOBISURE/AIG Insurance for a damn $99!!

Anyway the phone is GREAT. So far no issues at all. Very elegant.

I don't think PDArena sells us the AP set or Demo Set. SIS stickers are everywhere. IMEI on back of the phone, the box and HD System all match, Sirim sticker is there and all the accesorries in the box are new with SIS stickers.

On the Mobisure / AIG extended warranty - I have no idea how to claim. Please share with me when u managed to contact the people. The red piece of receipt looks cheap though. And i am not very convinced.

Btw I found the Forms to apply SIS extended warranty card 1+1 package. However, the form requires the Shop's signature and stamp. I am going to PDArena in Sunway this weekend to get it done. Otherwise I will complain big time if they can't give me a good answer. I don't care about the Mobisure/AIG warranty already - better try to get the SIS one. If you are interested we can go together.

for the warranty, just keep ur offcial receipt will do (as the proof of purchase)
for the application for sis membership, just fill in the form, pay $, thats it, after few weeks, u will received the courier (membership card and some brouchers)

currently the hd is using windows mobile 6.1 rite. can we upgrade it to wm7 soon? (i mean when its out probably end of 2009/early 2010). im new to wm os,  but i heard wm7 going to be remarkably awesome. we need to pay to upgrade izzit? or send to shop? or download it somewhere and cn upgrade it by ourself?

free of charge or we need to pay the new license fee?
