what do you think? Should it be cheaper than iPhone and why?

HD no doubt is the best WinMo phone in the world for now. There are quite many direct comparison between HD and iPhone, you can search in the net for that. In short, HD just raised the bar of what iPhone set previously. You can see there are many new comers with similar or slightly better feature sets etc. But HD still holds the notch as it's unofficially supported by XDA-Developers, that's all other phones can't compete with (maybe except SE XPeria).

the new davideuck wm6.5 v6.1 is pretty fast, one of the fastest wm6.5. Been using is for 2 days now, quite impressive..

Some were saying that flashing the ROM will void the warranty.. is that still true and valid?

I had tried, but didn't like it. Not because of its new interface, it wasn't that fast as said, it was much slower than wm6.1 and TF3D. The touch screen sensitivity was way off - I had to press harder and longer to perform scrolling.
The lockscreen however was sweet.
The taskbar can be half-transparent so you can enjoy fullsize wallpaper and not cropped one.
Lots of cosmetics make ups from wm6.1 like scrollbar, tab, are now skinned and unfortunately this makes wm6.5 slower.

I think I wanna overclock my HD to 1Ghz to fully enjoy wm6.5.

how do u intend to overclock your HD?

by increasing the clock speed. LOL

i didnt know PDA's qualcomm can be overclocked 0_0

need to reverse engineer and identify the clock registers / addressing commands, if not, well, hack the crystal / oscillator for faster speed one... sigh TALK is easy, do is very difficult lah~~

lol, if there's a way i'd like to read about it as well. cuz as far as i knew TI OMAP could be overclocked, have not heard of QUalcomm being overclocked before

I prefer miri's wm6.5 v6.1 XTRALIGHT as it doesn't have any extra 3rd-party apps bundled with it.

There are also miri's standard and premium versions which have additional apps as well as manila v3.

I have not yet tried davideuck's v6.1 but did try its v5 which is very slow that's why I go for miri's xtralight version.

Now my love for wm6.5 over dutty/davideuck/L26...u-name-it wm6.1 roms

When you flash the RUU for the HD, do you use Hard-SPL or USPL?

I got a question here....

Let's say that I flashed cooked ROM, say, Davideuck_V-5_HP via USPL method and later the device has to be sent back for warranty.

From my understanding USPL doesn't change the original SPL, so when I flash back to HTC's original ROM can I just simply run the original RUU without anything to be done before hand??

And the 2nd thing is assume that I wanted to flash to another cooked ROM, if my previous attempt is done via USPL, does that mean that before flashing the new ROM I need to relaunch USPL first, then flash the cooked ROM that I wanted? (Without flashing back to HTC's original ROM).

Hope to clear things up before I try to do it for the first time

USPL is also known as Soft SPL. Essentially u unlock your SPL TEMPORARILY for ONE flash.

Hard-SPL is once its there, its there until original SPL is reflashed

THEREFORE, if u had USPL-ed your device to flash a rom, u;d have to USPL it again to flash any other rom

to put it even simpler

Hard SPL > Custom rom > custom rom > custom rom > Original rom > restore SPL

USPL > custom rom > USPL > custom rom > USPL > original rom. U wouldnt need to flash "restore SPL" and its just a soft SPL

same here.. for me it's one of the fastest and most stable custom ROMs i've used.. and also good battery life.. now running for 3days and still 34% battery..

p/s: now downloading davideuck wm6.5 v-7..

Downloaded Davideuck WM 6.5 ( ver6.1) - so far pretty stable ; didn't notice any major issues but the windows interface slight sluggish. Anyway I never like the interface it in the first place since ver 5,6, and 7 as I always replace it with Spb Shell and Spb phone suite

Can Garmin Mobile XT be supported in Touch HD?
