I'am using 4.01 m33-2 can i update to 5.xx m33-x firmware ? need pandora battery ? actually pandora battery when use downgrade firmware??

Yes, you can update to 5.00M33, but why? 4.01m33-2 is good enough already. I'm on 4.01m33-2 as well

It depends. If you want to downgrade an official firmware psp which has a firmware that's > 3.50, then you need a Pandora's Battery. Most custom firmwares can be downgraded to lower ones using the reflashing method.

anyone knows how to go and play online games using psp in malaysia. It seems that all the discussion in this forum is on ps3 online. Can't seem to find any info on psp online. Would love to play online game with my psp.

Just took my psp to the a shop today, he told me that its still unable to be morphed yet. And that the programmes are unstable plus the pandora battery is not out yet. Even the webpages/company didnt upload the file to the internet.

I didnt fully understand what he meant. And what company/page was he referring to? By that, anyone can tell me what's the version of my psp?

Still waiting my psp 3k to be crack.. Nothing to play with my psp 3k now..

oh...you mean if you want to downgrade firmware need pandora battery? pandora battery just for downgrade firmware or got other thing to use ?

guys..need help.it is necessary or must install the 1.50kernel?....i had a phat psp....upgraded from 3.7 to 5.0 without any 1.5kernal...n wth is this kernel..appreciate!!

I think your screen got problem d. My cousin psp phat also got this problem but after tat it become normal again.

hi there all pros,i just got my psp-2000 this morning.my psp firmwares is 4.01 m33-2.
sorry im new about psp i read the threads about firmware and homebrew but i still dont understand that much.im dumb btw so is there any1 can explain this 2 things in a ez way for a dumb me?
and my quest is:
1,Should i upgrade my firmwares?
2,firmwares is to make psp game play more smoothly?
3,i saw some firmwares upgrade fees is RM15 some is RM35 some even RM45 is there any different on upgrading?

4.01 M33-2 is good enuf liao almost all homebrew games can be played
Some new firmware are fix those bug , got new interface ,options,support more application games etc...

1) There's no real need to update your firmware unless there are really nice additional features in it, or if you have a UMD that requires a firmware higher than your current one.

2) No. Certain games require a specific firmware or any firmware higher than that to run. Here's an example. A game requires firmware 3.71 to run. So, the game would only work on firmware 3.71 and any other firmwares higher than that.

3) Upgrading is free. Shopkeepers tend to cheat people. Custom firmwares are made by psp developers. They release it for FREE. They spend a lot of time coding it, and ol' shop keepers just main jual only all the stuff.
