I've no problem all this while with my Y!M. Just sometimes my MSN is a bit crazy but still can be connected. My Y!M, MSN, GTalk and Skype are always connected. biggrin.gif

Speed wise. Torrent and direct download also not bad. thumbup.gif

I'm either on .34 or the new set of I.P. address. biggrin.gif

When will the Celcom broadband Internet service be improved? Currently, Celcom GPRS and 3G broadband Internet services are anything but broadband. In fact, they are extremely “narrowband”. Many times it is worse than dial-up connection. When I am away from home I use Celcom broadband Internet to download my emails. It usually takes several hours to complete the download. Most of the time there is no transmission. – Saw Swee Tong

There are a lot of variables with regard to the speeds actually achieved since it would depend on how strong the signal is, the time of the day the service is being used (peak/non-peak) and also the customers’ device quality (inferior radio and chipsets). However, we have done benchmark tests and have managed to get more than 80% of the speeds advertised at certain areas and times. For really good surfing and downloading experience, all the customer needs is about 300kbps consistently.-Datuk Seri Mohammed shazalli ramly.

i'm using celcom 98 and this happens lately:

once i get connected to celcom, my download speed shoots up to 300 kB/s. but in 10-20 seconds, it'll drop to less than 20 kB/s. i'm downloading files using IDM, with megaupload premium account.

if i purposely disconnect and reconnect back, the same scenario happens. fast download speed for 10-20 seconds then drop to <20 kB/s

i wonder why this is happening. is it because of the undersea cable, or the 5GB cap? coz it's only 5th Jan. and my lappy doesnt even have enough free space to download 5GB files.

i think last week i managed to get speed of >100 KB/s before this situation happens.

any suggestion?

I thinks it is because of the 5GB cap. It happens to me also. One minute the download speed was fantastic and suddenly drops to 15kB/s.

Anyway, i still remember when Celcom BB was really, really good. Now got so many problem ady. cry.gif I have no other choice but the terminate my celcom d98. Now I'm using Jaring 2mbps Soho and this is my current speed drool.gif

Shazalli Ramli - the head of Celcom - of course he's not going to say bad things about his own company. The same person says he's unaware that Celcom's 100 day 100 cars competition was a form of gambling.

Got link to the article BTW?
