» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « In clarifying your concern on Fair Usage Policy, we wish to share with you that Celcom takes customer experience very seriously and we have implemented the 5G Fair Usage Policy to ensure all customer enjoy the services equally.
Customers that exceed the set 5GB allocation will not be charged extra currently. They can still enjoy their connectivity however Celcom reserves the right to manage the customers speed to a lower bandwidth.
Similarly, the speed will continue at the reduced speed allocation until the end of that particular calendar month. On the first day of each month, customer's bandwidth allocation counter will be reset to 0 and their speed will be reset back to their original subscribed speed.
Based on customer's current package, if they have subscribed Celcom Broadband Advance (3.6Mbps), the speed will reduce to 128 kbps and if they have subscribed Celcom Broadband Basic (384 kbps) the speed will then reduce to 64 kbps.
Roughly 5 gigabyte is about 1200 songs in MP3 format, or 5 two-hour movies, or 10,000 content rich websites like www.yahoo.com.
Additionally, we noted your invaluable feedback regards to 'Fair Usage Policy' with utmost concern and the issue has been extended to the appropriate department for their deliberations.
It is hoped that the above could clarify the situation.
It was a pleasure serving you and we wish to extend our heart-felt thank you for your continued patronage and contribution to Celcom.
Best regards
Norsuzila Shaari Communique Resources Centre Customer Service Im currently using Celcom useless wireless broadband. When did they start having this 5GB limit cap? The service is bad enough already.

QUOTE(Savor_Savvy @ Jan 6 2009, 02:00 PM) Last week, my friend went to subscribe celcombb and i went with him. As i got one, i inquire bout the 5gb quota, but guess what, the sales promoter denied it. I explained that for rm68, after 5gb, the speed will automatically become 64kbps for the rest of the month, but again, he said, GOT MEH??? He showed me the form for the terms and conditions, and it's the old one, with NOTHING about the 5gb policy. I just Its quite normal, all the promoter denied the 5gb quote fact. In fact when i first subscribe to this service, the promoter that serve me also said the 5gb quota is removed long time ago. Although i try to convince him with the news i heard from here and there about this quota, but he still denied it... In the end, i just diam diam and subscribe the service and cabut.....

Based on the QOS provided, Maxis and Celcom is the worst, some even the promoters cheat when it comes to quota limit. Right now, I'm using EDGE. So far, no problem.

Coverage quite good since NOT MANY user subscribing EDGE in this area, I believe. There's some reduce in terms of speed sometimes, but 80:20 stable, not like celcom. Know they're exceeding the allowed subscriber, but still accept new subscribers which clog the traffics. This post has been edited by soundsyst64: Jan 7 2009, 12:13 PM
