I'm quite new here, so...hi to all
My speedtest (from Speedtest.net) is like downloading not more than 60kb and uploading less than 10kb (doing few speedtest daily)...sometimes cant even be completed. Moreover the connection sometimes (actually countless times) discontinues or timeout...1 more reason to be frustrated about, especially when I need to do conference or alike. Seems like whenever the connection changed from HSDPA to UMTS or vice versa, the connection discontinues...or rather timeout. Do we have any solution to this? I mean the changing from HSDPA to UMTS thing. I read in few of the post about setting network as 3G only and so on, done that..just wondering if there's anything else that could be done. sigh...was in UK for 4 years, with 24MB constant, uninterrupted broadband connection..I just hope Malaysia connection can improve by time, and of course hope people there really do their jobs.. btw, my location is Cheras KL..shows full bar UMTS/HSDPA at the Celcom interface. I dont think it is congestion problem. The speed always starts off rapidly. For only a sec or 2. Only to decrease to appropriate throttling speed, 128kbps and 64kbps. But surfing specific webpages such as Celcom 3G webpage, the speed is extremely fast. All these symptoms are signs of heavy throttling by Celcom. I think that Celcom has "perfected" its throttle technique. Probably safe to assume that the upgrade they are referring to all these times is this
Ironically, in Celcom 3G page, Celcom defined "broadband" as internet connection above 256kbps. And yet, it throttles users to 64 and 128kbps - well below the defined speed of broadband by Celcom itself. So how on earth this service is called Celcom broadband?! Celcom broadband 5GB + dial-up >5GB... I cant wait to see wad DiGi has to offer. The slow implementation of DiGi 3G is wearing me thin. Please get into the market ASAP, DiGi. There are plenty of unhappy Celcom customers waiting for you. I dont mind "giving" money to DiGi if it can offer better service. If only there is another ISP in my area... Just becoz of that, I unwillingly and regularly pay Celcom for crappy service. |

cant really do something regarding that things. its all ups to Celcom to manage/upgrade their BB. wow 24MB/s BB that's great. Celcom to have 24MB/s in near future is something that quite impossible...huhu..

hey guys wanna ask a few questions...i'm using a nokia e61i to surf the net using celcom 3g. now the thing is out of the sudden the access point to connect to the internet are all lost!? i mean usually they have many access point options on the phone like. "celcom 3g postpaid internet" " celcom 3g prepaid internet" "celcom 3g" "celcom 3g wap" bla bla bla....and the usual access point i use for the phone is "celcom 3g postpaid internet"
the only option left now are "celcom 3g streaming" and "celcom 3g wap" this happened after i switch sim cards to a different phone, and when i change it back, it got this way...... the questions is The access point that i'm using now is "celcom 3g streaming"... will celcom charge me to death if i use this access point? or is it the same? i'm using the D68 plan and a DATA only sim card by the way. i mean will they like slap me with a huge azz bill that is more then rm68 because i'm using the wrong access point that is not part of the d68 plan? does anyone knows how to change it back? |

QUOTE(LeechFever @ Dec 29 2008, 10:15 AM) Hi guys, Due to my ..er... unique situation, I may need to terminate Celcom service either temp or permenantly in a awkward timeline (cause not contract base). Say for example, I would like to use Maxis/WiMax/other ISP from overseas wireless service instead, can I still re-use the modem I bought from Celcom with a little config? I noticed that the brand is Vodafone so I think it can be reused for other ISP. Sorry, noob here and need clarification. don't go to maxis. from my personal experience (and to keep maxis nice speed right now stays) |

QUOTE(zhunky @ Dec 31 2008, 04:03 AM) Well, I bought Huawei E220 for about RM360...perfomance is up to its standard, I mean can support 7.2Mbps, HSDPA/UMTS, can get a good coverage, etc2 (more or less the same with others in its class). Actually which modem u took (coz latest is 3.5G anyway), doesnt really matters in the perfomance i think...its the ISP u chose for. |

I am using D98 on my nokia 6120c. I change from Celcom 3g internet to C3g postpaid to streaming. No problem at all. My D98 is data only, no voice call. They never charge me extra. If you're using with voice maybe u need to be careful, but I'm not sure. the only option left now are "celcom 3g streaming" and "celcom 3g wap" this happened after i switch sim cards to a different phone, and when i change it back, it got this way...... the questions is The access point that i'm using now is "celcom 3g streaming"... will celcom charge me to death if i use this access point? or is it the same? i'm using the D68 plan and a DATA only sim card by the way. i mean will they like slap me with a huge azz bill that is more then rm68 because i'm using the wrong access point that is not part of the d68 plan? does anyone knows how to change it back? |
