What I know, if there is currency exchange then they will follow visa/master exchange rate. But for apple online store, they already charge in RM and no SG.

Guys,

can anybody confirm whether there charge exactly the amount of the website to ur CC. And what kind of cc u use.

Just bought mbp, CIMB CC. They charge RM28++ extra. Called CIMB and the bank said it's cross border fee. Wanna confirm whether all bank the same or just cimb.

Hi,

I was looking around at the Apple Store (Malaysia) T&C and found this:

QUOTE
7. Payment Methods

7.1 Credit Card

7.1.1 You may pay for your Products by the methods of payment as displayed on the payment section of the Apple Store Web Site from time to time. At the time your order is placed, Apple obtains a pre-approval from the credit card company for the amount of the order. Credit card billing occurs when your order ships.

7.1.2 The Apple Store currently accepts Visa and MasterCard only

7.1.3 You must pay the price payable in Malaysian Ringgit as indicated on your Order Confirmation

7.1.4 Apple Payment Processor (Merchant Bank) is in Hong Kong. Please check with your card issuing bank regarding additional services charges applied by your bank. Any service charges imposed by your banks are not reflected in the order value on the web site.

7.1.5 We will email or post your invoice to you at the billing address indicated on your Order Confirmation when we ship your Products to you. Your invoice will be your proof of purchase.

PLEASE NOTE:

  1. We accept credit cards issued by banks from Malaysia, Singapore and US.
  2. For information about alternate payment options please review options listed in the following sections.
  3. You may be required to provide further identification for additional security reference checks.
So yeah, I think we get cross border charge since the payment processor is in Hong Kong.

There's a bank in option after that part, check it out at the link below:

since your friend doesnt work for apple, its highly unlikely since they were just updated last month. Macrumors buyers guide says its a good buy now,http://buyersguide.macrumors.com/. Just get since you need it, no point waiting, its already a damn good laptop.

MacBook Pro Targeted 2.8GHz Core i7 Processors

If you're referring to the above, keep waiting then... tongue.gif It will just be a minor speed bump, due end of this year if Apple sticks with it's regular refresh cycle.

While you're at it, you'll be jealous of how many ppl here including myself are enjoying their MBs and MBPs... tongue.gif

But at the same time, i'm looking at 0% interest installment scheme. Anywhere offer?

AppleCare Protection Plan is an extended warranty plan you can buy for your Apple products.

Yes, you will be left behind in 3-5 months. And you will be left behind in 3-5 months after that if you consider buying the next refresh, and again and again and again...

if the rumoured new i7 is launched in september.. it doesnt make the current i7 a slouch in any way. the current MBP i7 is a damn fast already... so what if it's the 2nd fastest MBP in 3 months, it's still considered very fast

the only way to get the fastest spec all the time is to buy a desktop PC, n upgrade ur processor everytime there's a new one coming out. assuming if u have a deep pocket of course. dun worry too much about this, MBP is just one of the things that's still valueble even though the specs are outdated. heck, i still think the ancient powerbook looks much better than most windows laptop out there.

yeah but they now offer a one of 4% processing fee, i think because mass sales these days slow for them and the merchant charges at 8% is a lot, so they are trying to mitigate the charges.

order before 2pm, the next day or the day after, approximately 2-3 days depending on stock availability or whether or not its a CTO model.
