Hi there, Can someone help me with a link where I can find the necessary forms for an AP for the Suruhanjaya Tenaga malaysia?

I ordered two units of ANOVA Precision cookers and they're due to arrive next Monday.

I've looked quite a bit on the website but can't find the necessary link for the documents.

I am looking to import some kitchen tools from overseas. A kitchen knife and some knife sharpeners. Estimated value is around USD600. Will I get taxed for this? And if so, how much and what is the procedure requried to get it out of customs?

Did you manage to get your items past customs? There's no easy way around it my friend.

Hi guys, I just received my parcels from DHL but was charged an unexpected amount of RM200 for import duties.

Apparently customs decided to rate my items based on "market value" instead of the amount I bought. Is this normal? Can I claim back the duties if I presented my original invoice from Amazon? I called DHL but the person on the line said no.

Does someone order trading cards before? I read quite a lot of comments here saying if you buy less than RM 500, it wont be taxed, wondering is this 100% for sure wont be taxed ?

and after RM 500 will be taxed for how much ?

I plan to buy a carton, and will cost me RM 2200-RM2800 (60,000yen++)

I checked the Malaysia Import Duties in lowyat forum, stating playing cards are 5% import, 10% sales, so 15% will be charged?

Sorry for bringing out this old post. I've into purchasing trading cards lot too recently and thought I'd share my experience here.

Just moments ago I received an email from the JB custom officer charging me a whopping RM340 for tax including the poslaju agent fee of RM49.50. FYI, the total value of my items is only RM964 or 31500 yen with CIF. Strangely though, they quoted for RM145 last weekend and agreed to send to the nearest PosLaju branch which I'm supposed to receive today. What a change of tide to receive another email from them quoting me with an even more expensive price sad.gif

Such unfortunate because I can't refund the lots and might have to pay the tax wholly. My first time experience of ordering items from commercial seller and this could be the last. Prefer to just purchase from ebay in the future.

Hi there. I've ordered items from Amazon before valued above the RM500 mark including CIF but I did not charged with any import duties or sales tax. Then again, the items I ordered are all books and I even receive the paperwork that Amazon had done attached with the parcel.

Hope you had settled this issue by now smile.gif

After calculation of Freight, insurance and cargo value which more than half a thousand = dutiable.

That is certainly true. Just wondering whether there is any exception whereby even items above the RM500 mark will not be charged any any import duties fees? I've read several buyers experience which varies very much. On some occasion, some was even imposed with the import duties for items valued below the mark.

Noticed that there was alot of questions and no answers, i myself was tempted to ask a question heh, but decided to try and solve it.

http://tariff.customs.gov.my/
(go to this site and search your hs code)

How to get HS code?
http://www.foreign-trade.com/reference/hscode.htm
(look for your category and then can liao)

For people who want to know how to ship in stuff without tax, ask your shipper to ship in as electronic calculator (847010) or cash registers (847050) 0% import tax 0% sales duty =D Assuming they dont open your package lah.

Not sure if it's the right place to ask but I'm wondering in the future when gst is implemented, would it affect all imports? Does that mean I have to go and pay for gst everytime I import anything regardless of amount rclxub.gif

Import tax will be imposed if the value exceeds RM500, and how does gst work? Do you have any prove to back up this claim?
