If not mistaken, normal skateboard is under Tariff Code #9506.99 000 which carry only 6% GST. But i'm not sure if "electric skateboard". Some country use same TC while some use #8711.90 920 which have 30% duties + 6% GST. Better ask your shipper which Tariff Code/HS Code they using during export.

Yes, your duties/taxes calculation is correct.

Hopes that help.

kherel77 Thanks for your reply! Wow, 36% vs 6$... haha, better make sure! When you say I should ask my shipper, you mean ask the courier that the seller will use? Sorry, not too familiar with who decides which HS code will be used.

QUOTE(Tinkai @ Mar 29 2017, 08:25 PM)
hi kherel77,

I bought the same item as this forumer here: https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...3585&hl=m340clz

It's a PC monitor. Looking at his thread he seems to be charged 25% + 6%, reading through the topic, it should only be 6% right?

I looked here: http://tariff.customs.gov.my/ but I can't really find what I need to know.

Please help, will be going to customs office in 2 days.

Regards,
Tinkai

For only PC monitor, yes...it's 25% duties + 6% GST. Tariff Code #8528.59 000
TV is 30% duties + 6% GST

shit.... now I hope they classify this as 8528.51 ones else the tax would be scary.

In the worst case scenario, do you know if they take payment via credit card?

Not sure about that, they should have the facilities as they deal with lot of payments.
Or You can ask any clearance agent there to pay first on your behalf & later you pay back to them using cc.

Again, thanks for your reply.

One last question.

Import from Korea and import from US, if it's the same HS code, will it have diff charges?

TC Code/HS remain same, but IATA Freight rate is different. So CIF value will be different.

Watch is 0% duty with 6% GST. DHL will pay first on your behalf & claim back from you on delivery time. They should inform you prior to delivery.

Hi, i plan to ship my personal desktop computer from Singapore to Malaysia (Kuching, Sarawak) through FedEx. Is there any duty taxes for this? Do i need to declare the item value? Cause all the pc parts i bought long time ago, forgot the total value of it.

Sorry if i ask stupid question cause first time ship this. Thanks!
