hi kherel77,

I bought the same item as this forumer here: https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...3585&hl=m340clz

It's a PC monitor. Looking at his thread he seems to be charged 25% + 6%, reading through the topic, it should only be 6% right?

I looked here: http://tariff.customs.gov.my/ but I can't really find what I need to know.

Please help, will be going to customs office in 2 days.

Regards,
Tinkai

For only PC monitor, yes...it's 25% duties + 6% GST. Tariff Code #8528.59 000
TV is 30% duties + 6% GST

Thanks for the reply.

I thought pc monitor is #8528.51 000? Whats the difference between that 2?

8528.51 000 is monitor/lcd for processing system (computer) under heading 8471 (laptop/notebook/AIO).

shit.... now I hope they classify this as 8528.51 ones else the tax would be scary.

In the worst case scenario, do you know if they take payment via credit card?

Tinkai

Not sure about that, they should have the facilities as they deal with lot of payments.
Or You can ask any clearance agent there to pay first on your behalf & later you pay back to them using cc.

Again, thanks for your reply.

One last question.

Import from Korea and import from US, if it's the same HS code, will it have diff charges?

TC Code/HS remain same, but IATA Freight rate is different. So CIF value will be different.
