Worth it Cham! I paid about RM65 a piece for Kyosho 1/64 (inc shipping cost from Japan)... definately worth it....
But now I'm fully focus on 1/43 only....

oh... just refer back to V2, yes it is Black CL63 AMG. i hope u all dun mind my teaser game tried to take as real as possible. i purchase from ebay HK, pricey but reliable.. as i know Nikko SG didn't bring in Black S63 AMG neither do Nikko M'sia bcoz particular colors only available in diff region like US & Canada (includes Black CL63). so decided to take tat risk buy direct from HK.

Need advice...

I noticed that some model car tyres (rubber) starting to melt after you keep it for years.. anything I can do to prevent this from happening?

yup... heard tat too... some even told me tat the tyres will flatten if u display the car model for long period of time... currently i think the best way is to stack up the car, juz to avoid any contacts between the tyres and the surface... im now using this method on my every diecast car...

guess this is true coz whenever we buy those diecast car models, they tend to screw the car on its base, and the wheels are never touched the surface... first thing is to stablize the car in the box, secondly i think they oso wana prevent the wheels from touching its base... after all, they are juz rubber...

i was thinking the same thing also.

thanks guys! for those who been poisoned, thousand apologies. i've been thru the feeling and took alot of antidose while in V1 & V2 thread told myself choose wisely & save for the best.

zefflodo: u r huge VW Beetle fan! i remember u have quite some AA model like AM Vantage & VW Beetle.

i did what Jasonist suggested, no worries bout the tyres but paint bubbles/blistering is real nightmare. i began polish them and keep monitor everyday.. any maintenance cares to add guys?

wahahaha... life is full of ups and downs, cant believe in this diecast field oso the same... i can say tat now ur in ur ups, while im now in my downs... lolzzz!



myke how u polish those cars? do u use any chemical to do tat? i only manage to sweep off the dust with a moped nia... talking bout stacking up the car, this is wat i did, as u can see from the pictar - im using eraser; cut it into cubes; use black stickers to wrap the eraser; then stick it underneath the car... but the downside is tat there will be permanent stick mark on the undercarriage... but for long term display, currently its the only way to do...

i just use car liquid wax polish and tested on 1 car 1st... then 2nd car after a week it does make ur car brand new & shine! i did it because my Kyosho F40 oredi infected by bubbles put hyppo sucker oso no help!

aiksss... seems tat Kyosho cars are more vulnerable to bubbles! My M5 oso start to have tiny ones at the side door... perhaps try put two hyppos if one is not powerful enough? currently i put a hyppo next to the M5 and the bubbles are not tat serious anymore... same goes to other cars...

oso, from time to time, i try to use a fan to blow the cabinet space and cars, juz to let the cars breathe sometimes... otherwise if close inside the cabinet for a long time, i fear for much serious humidity occurs...

thanks for the tips, will do at once.. cant afford to risk my precious i've done some research. solid paint are more vulnerable to bubbles/blister while metallic paint are safe. here are some articles for diecast care & it's helpful.

my 1/24 cooper S from tunerz i put in the car oredy for 3 years..
i didnt get any prob with paint..except for the internal parts la starting to lose color since those are not diecast..but the body still perfect

I agree, caused our high humidity climate is the main chanllenge to keep our precious collections in tip top condidition... as a rule of tumb, avoid direct contact with sun light, try to rub off any moisture on the surface of the models... the inner parts cleaning? well? use the ear buds to clean the dust??

As for the rubber wheels?? Jason, your idea is perfect, try to jack the models up, avoid the tyre from contacting any surface...
Like my Samsung HP, those rubber covers were all gone in just two years (lose shape and cracked eventually)... despite taking good care on my mobile... it's just unavoidable.... scary!!!

I think there most be some protection agent (something like an sunblock oil or something) we can apply to preserve the rubber...

err as my expectation kyosho has lower quality than AA.........
btw guys, try to wipe off your finger print mark on car b4 you keep it......our finge sometimes leaves some oily toxic "vapour" on the car use cloth to wrap and carry then put back in display cabinet.... since the paint is so sensitive..........

other than that might be due to our hot weather so figures produced by japansese company oso start melting......heard from other forummers......not sure yu have heard revoltech

REALCollector: using ear buds? mind to teach on how to use tat to clean the interior??? as for me, those models without window glasses or convertibles, i will simply switch on the fan to its maximum level then blow away the dust of the car interior le... but still cant totally clean off those stubborn dust

since we have discussed bout how to maintain the car model and rubber tyres previously, i discovered one of my diecast nightmares juz now... juz found out my 350z left tyres are melting!!! seems like the tyres are liquified and the melted liquid is dripping and it spread all around the cabinet surface...



when i took it out and tried to wipe off the liquid i felt that the tyres harden! damn now it become so kilat and the shape is kinda running out!

even worse, i got double impact when i tried to carry the 350z, the rear spoiler accidentally got off! damn i wonder wat has happened to the car? i juz took it softly and tried to overturn it in order to check out the tyres, the rear spoiler suddenly came off...

seems tat this is a black Friday for my 350z... im now kinda confused on how to protect these tyres... despite i jack up all the models, seems tat i cant escape from the melting tyres nightmare...

take off the tyre and then try to heat it from a distance and push back the middle part.

they just shrunk...from what i observe from your photo....

put it near a warm area and from inner of the tyre
slowly push it outside....might work.....
