well, some suffer minor melting of the rims n minor bubbles on certain cars....unnoticeable by amateurs thou.... tongue.gif just have a good room temp....not too warm or damp... wipe without using chemicals coz it's not like a real car... water will do... smile.gif frequent cleaning & touching will deteriorate the chrome parts. ventilation is a must at times... that's all i've did to my models.... tongue.gif like i've read some of u guys prob, QC can be a factor too... sayang wor u buy ur favourite car but ended up melting here n there....sure *&%$#@ one.... doh.gif

whoaa.... keeping them in a closet safe n sound would be ok if the temp is right.... warm temp will make da car suffer more.... cry.gif so for me i hate it to happen. so sometimes i switched to plastic modelkits....if i'm a bit lazy to build i switch to die cast again... tongue.gif now i dunno where to put this 4.... my dad la recently bought em... biggrin.gif

Can some guys give a general pro & cons from different manufacturer of different scales maybe starting with:

1.Maisto
2.Auto Art
3.Kyosho
4.Burago
5.Hot Wheels
6.Tomica
7.Nikko
etc etc etc?

Coz some are priced higher than others while sometimes they don't look as accurate/nice.

But I know nothing about brand vs product, just know Kyosho are usually more expensive.

And Mirage-RS, becareful when you wipe those dust off coz you might be welcoming scratches if you do it improperly.

advocado: well depends on ur budget and standard level on diecast quality... high end diecast models are brands like Autoart, Kyosho, CMC, Minichamps. While moderate but still great quality is like Hot Works or Hotwheels (Elite). As for budget models, u can go for Maiso, Bburago and Hotwheels (normal version)... these models i refer to are 1/18 scale size.

high quality means high accuracy, thus high price... and opposite to budget models... but i can say tat Maisto does a good job in producing quite accurate shape diecast models desptie its a budget model. when i compare my aa Gallardo and maisto Gallardo Superleggera, they almost look identical except for air intake vents, the wheels, windows, rear lights and exhaust pipes...

comparison between aa and maisto - Gallardo

a good start for 1/18 collection would be Maisto... unless u hunger for higher quality then get an aa instead, u sure wont be disappointed with tat... my first 1/18 model since i start my collection is the R32 from aa... wink.gif

AA GT-R35 available for booking in some online stores....

Jason, if not mistaken I'd read a forum, AA is gonna make Gallardo Superleggera next year too....

Advocado..... if you chosen high quality models.... you might not consider budgeted models later... cause human always want perfection....
I'm exactly one of them... I used to collect BBURAGO/ Maistro models... but now.... lazy go to local shop to look for them.... plus, I just gave away them to my cousin doh.gif

Was wondering what's the price difference between Maisto and Auto Art. Coz i always see them together in super markets but i know Auto Art is more expensive.

Other than the accuracy, what about those lights, windshields? I'm quite picky about lights as some give plastic looks. And windshield, it's just about the light scratches.

What about Maisto higher end i think it's rm20-30 more than normal Maisto.

Anyone bought the "My Old Friend" cars. I see Beetle & Ninja Turtle Van. Weathering looks quite nice and the way they wear the car down.

myke: wow those two colors are tempting!!! if not wrong, the red one is dealer edition of Nissan, specially sold for the Japanese market at first hand... and the black, white, and silver... i should be pokai if i get those 3 colors in one go... laugh.gif

tkt: lolzzz... thanks man! hows ur condition recently? any new acquisition ma? smile.gif

saru88: well, fingers crossed for ur upcoming shots soon... nod.gif

REALCollector: yup, heard tat too... but still waiting for the news from aa regarding the Superleggera... how bout u? plan to get the GTR 1/18 ma? brows.gif

advocado: Maisto usually cost RM100 sth... while Autoart models now cost RM300 or even more... while those limited edition models or with leather seats (example the 1/18 scale Merc CL63 AMG and the Super GT models) may cost even more... if possible, try walk around those diecast shops to see for urself... nod.gif
