Erh.. My star kena RNS. I dono why also. Got UV light, Basking light and i bask it under the sun often. Feeding Choy Sum everyday and sprinkle some vitamins for it. What have i done wrong leh??
I didn't provide the star's a hidebox. Could this be the reason for RNS?
And a friend recommended me putting a drop of Baytril into it's nose. Is it okay if i do so? Would it harm my star?

Maybe try sun bath 20-30min few days, if still persist, on the heat lamp at night for few hours...maybe contemplate using an infrared bulb.

Medical treatment: Enrofloxacin(Baytril) drops via nostril or add to water for drinking (they usually avoid food stained with it. Can also add few drops of gentamicin + dexamethasone combo aka Garasone(as a nasal drop) in addition to Baytril. But dont overdo it...Rmbr to isolate the dude for now, maybe about 1-2 weeks wink.gif

However, RNS may recur if humidity or environment is unfavourable.

For hatchling ping pong sized ST, please don't overdry them...they might come from arid grassland, but they still need some moisture especially at night, otherwise they can get 'Hatchling Failure syndrome'

Hope ur ST recover in due time..can take up to 2 weeks wink.gif

Cheers!

IF he is size enough ie at least 4 inch why not !!

From pic I would guess your Star only about 3 inch !!

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Not to scare you if his P*** do not go back in after say 1 or 2 minutes he may have some complication inside !! Be warned

Most of the time yes. It's known as a prolapse. Most of the time, if the animals do not retract, an experienced keeper need to re-insert the organ back into the body. This process must be done with precision and judicial force should be implemented. It is also be best done during the early stage, before the exposed organ get swollen. Some herps may even suggest stitches to prevent from re-occuring.

This is just the worse case scenario. If the matter isn't serious, then the above is not necessary.

Just for info - a prolapse is USUALLY an initial sign of internal parasite infestation. You might want to check into that.

Just my RM0.02. You can choose to ignore it if you wish.

Iguana I have not tried or seen in person BUT in a certain Taiwanese book I have seen a setup with a few sp of tortoise kept togather with at least 2 sp of Iguana (Green and Rhino)

Have seen Blue Tongue Skink kept with tortoise with no problem !!

Should i feed them with Guppy as a treat or as a daily food??
kinda worried if they got addicted to it...i will take their pictures...2 of them the size is like 20cent siling...;P the shell still kinda soft...

while the other one is like 50 cent..but a bit bigger than that...

EDIT:hmm...as i see for a week....one of the baby RES likes to hide him/herself under the rocks...kinda... sweat.gif weird....
while the other one oso the same...but seldomly do that.. unsure.gif
as i can conclude...
one of them is really2 shy... brows.gif
and the another is sometimes shy and sometimes not.. shakehead.gif
so...any advice how to make them tak malu?? icon_question.gif hmm.gif brows.gif hmm.gif

but now i noticed 1 thing..my biggest RES really2 aquatic..mostly spend his 99% of his day in water...normal ka?
he just stay in the bottom and never move...hmm..normal??

Feed them with Guppy as treat, 1-2 times per week.

About the shyness and aquatic behaviour of your res its normal and its different for every of them so just leave it as it is. Its unique dont u think so ?
