hai guys, want to ask one thing here.
i am in kuching and i saw one star tortoise, the cost is way lower than semenanjung and its in good health.

can anyone care to tell how should i send this little fella back to semenanjung with proper document beside than 'smuggler' ? thanks...^^

First.. get a proper document for the tortoise. ;P

The markup by the LFS over East is lower than semenanjung !! Dont forget all star tortoise that get distributed over East are from the West !!
They still get offered on my LFS supplier (His supplier from KL and surround ) list for RM 78 a pc for S size (1.5 - 2 incher) !!

LFS = Local Fish Shop !!!

You have to have an account with the fish supplier (KK based ) to get that price !! If not retail of about RM 128 - 158 a pc !!

How much are we talking here in Kuching ? below RM 100 a pc ?

It all depends on what size you after and from which you buy them from on the supply line - Retailer , their supplier , wholesaler , importer or similar !!

Or go straight to a breeder if you know one !! But should be the most expensive of all even when compared to retailer !!

Hi yellow ST are quite nice..can go up to RM600 for 1..saw some pics online..but value is in the eyes of the beholder...

any1 has any nice hi yellow star(thick yellow markings all over instead of the regular thin/semi lines)...some are almost close to cream and off-white colour if you have seen enough....

Just wondering, what is the condition for ST nowadays? any new news ? for all i know its illegal to sold them now ~ so kind of hard to get one ~ try asking pet shop if want to bought one coz they will nvr display it if they have, who knows they got it, btw, if caught selling, its 100k fine per tortoise, that so mean, hehe,

btw....one my tortoise, no its not star , the scute growth is weird ~ they arent opening, some part of it, 2 or 3 scutes (the early scutes) are still stick together ~ other scute had shown large growth around them ~ if it possible that this one growth its scute by zone?? WEIRD

The "scales" / covering on the shell are call scutes in tortoise and turtle !!

so..this dude RES has a carapache problem?

its a tortoise, not a turtle ~ yup,i'm scared it got some disease , it is active though, and eating a lot compared to his buddy

hey...same with my tortoise...or RES....

If eating fine and active, no need to worry much.

well...who know..maybe it's shell suddenly get rotten just like my last RES..
