Hi All,

1st Post in TTT Thread.

Would like to know anyone currently keeping Musk, Mud or US Origin Box Turtles?
Hope you will share your experience with these species.

Been checking around prices are quite high.
Want to know what is the acceptable market value here in MY.

Planning on small sized turtles only. Max 6".

Hoping to kick start my old interest in late July 2010. rclxm9.gif

Btw, can we import turtles ourselves ? Is this allowed?
What do I need to do? Application with Govt Dept etc...? Anyone with experience?

Thanks.

im keeping a musk turtle biggrin.gif , i think they're quite hardy, mine eat alot @_@.

i would love to import turtles myself, but i think we need to get permit from wildlife department, honestly i do not know the procedure, if i know, i swear ill be a turtle supplier wakakakka biggrin.gif but anyway.. there will be risk importing as some of them may die & sometimes theres always problem from da gov. this and that & delay ur collection & wat not (i dunno about animals)..

Seriously
Raise the water level as high as possible,
Remove the gravel , they will accidentally swallow it.
And do you have a filter?

Will the cats/monkeys disturb the tortoise? I plan to put my RES in my outdoor pond, but my neighbor has a lot of cats (very naughty) and we live near the jungle, so monkeys are abundant here. Can see them everyday.

Yeah, the monkeys always come over to rummage through the wet kitchen! Sometimes, will sneak inside the dry kitchen as well. I guess, it's better to keep them in the tank before putting them outside. Or lots of hiding spots for the RES. Cats scared of water mah tongue.gif
