sifus, anyone,
i need to know something about my western painteds i've got 2 of them, eating well, active, have basking area & lights, everything is ok, but i find their carapace & plastrons has this "transparent plastic looking layer" which can be peeled off easily! wat are those? it sort of like when we eat prawns in da restaurant and we peel off da shell thing before we eat? exactly like those same material, its on my turtle scutes & the plastrons. it annoys me really.. now da red colors on their plastrons are not so striking anymore.. =_= looks like its light orange color now.. |

QUOTE(TUCKY @ Mar 19 2010, 11:43 PM) dun think its recomended to have other turtle species together with ur AST, as it may harm the other species. unless u get another AST to live together but provided u have enough room for them both ur AST is not lonely.. his got his feeder fish frens! which will be eaten, but ur gonna restock them anyway |

QUOTE(LiMcZ @ Mar 21 2010, 09:05 PM) jz bought a tortoise red eared slider, maybe they're not used to da new enviroment yet i guess.. since they're still babies, put them in a smaller container but enough room for them to move around, then use masking tape or the black tape, and tape around the tank so they cant see da outside world (if ur container is transparent), this will prevent them from stress, trying to swim out of da container, i think this will calm them down.but one problem is that it is no eating, left pellet, bread on dry stone surface for it,but it din bother eating it, it has been one day, any idea?? just my opinion |

QUOTE(gwendoLYN @ Mar 22 2010, 05:20 PM) hi. my RES is having puffy/swollen eyes and does not want to eat. i'm very worry. is this fatal desease? hi, i think you should keep your water clean at all time, especially now when its sick now, if this is not treated well, it might lead ur RES to blindness. take ur RES to a vet as soon as possible.i only feed him shrimp coz thats the only thing it will eat. i tried to feed him veggie or fruits like banana or papaya but he do not eat it. he only eats raw shrimps. what should i do for treatment? how to give injection vitamin A to RES? TQ. oh and.. i think feeding it shrimp is not suitable as they might get choked buy the shrimp's head, which has a horn-like thing as hard as its shell. |

QUOTE(ian oh @ Mar 22 2010, 11:37 PM) Hi, i have 2 star tortoise that i kept outdoor. Lately, i noticed that they have been eating earthworms that they come across. Is this a normal behaviour and can this be detrimental to their health? Hope someone can help. Thks not too sure if its their normal behavior, i have 3 stars outdoor too, especially my oldest one which is 21 yrs old, i bet he must have ate lots of worms :-X , he is healthy tho.Added on March 23, 2010, 8:23 am QUOTE(gwendoLYN @ Mar 22 2010, 11:52 PM) Noted. thanks. umm.. i think most vets can treat a turtle BTW, could anyone suggest me an experienced in RES Vet/clinic somewhere in Ampang for me to bring my RES for treatment? here check this out >> http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/264418 for vets in your area This post has been edited by gailkun: Mar 23 2010, 08:23 AM |
