ah .. bloody heck.

i got a "nice" email from xoticpc about this 10% of mine. cry.gif

Hence from today onwards, i won't be able to offer this discount any longer. to those who ordered from me before today, i'll do my best to fulfill my obligations. there still another 2-3weeks before i'm due to cash out, so hopefully everything will still go as planned.

spike of orders from around here maybe ? tongue.gif (but thats a good thing tho biggrin.gif )

QUOTE(kirakun @ Jan 14 2009, 02:26 PM)
Heck mayb some1 was asking about the 'discount' at the website? or worst still lodge an enquiry to xoticpc. doh.gif  doh.gif  doh.gif

Added on January 14, 2009, 5:48 pmBtw any here have any idea which email xoticpc frequently uses? I mail a few enquiries to service@xoticpc.com but got no reply? And that was few days ago.

Bro corad, normally how u correspond with xoticpc? Need to get them to unlock the cpu multiplier as soon as possible.
*
unless you bought xoticpc warrenty, most of your technical queries are sent to : techsupport@sagernotebook.com . i'm surprised they din't at least email you back.

QUOTE(cannavaro @ Jan 14 2009, 07:34 PM)
Eh.. I thought there's nothing wrong with using corad's link to purchase? It's not like exploiting a loophole or something right?
*
i'm not too sure how legal it is, with taxes on their side and everything. I'm not one to argue with them, so i'm just letting this one slide sad.gif

still, without the 10% its still a good buy for future buyers thumbup.gif

and to be fair, they were sympathetic when i quoted the high shipping fee's + non local warranty support and replied :

I think i've got a lemon since i've changed it twice and it keeps having some irritating problems from a keyboard which has flex in it to the usb ports unable to detect portable HDD (other lower power usage usb devices are fine though).

Plus the 9650GT card isnt as powerful as i would like it to be coz i cant play fallout 3 at high settings at 1680 reso and have to settle with med which it still lags in alot of areas.
*
how much is your zepto ?

QUOTE(kingcom @ Jan 14 2009, 09:18 PM)
Hi, I'm new here, planning to buy a new laptop. For my budget of RM6k, is it good for a Sager? I want to play some games and use it for watching movies most of the time...
*
bottom line: get a sager only if you're confident with computers.

you can't rival the specs or the price, but you'll be forfeiting warranty. Be prepared to fix it yourself if it's broken. only if ya laugh.gif

QUOTE(kirakun @ Jan 15 2009, 01:28 AM)
Well all the packages do include the standard international warranty for parts and labor. But we need to pay for extension and extras to it. Anyway that's the weird part, no reply from them at all sweat.gif  doh.gif . Well i'll forward my mails to techsupport@sagernotebook.com then and hopefully will get reply from there.
*
but the warranty is not that useful for us outside the states. it would probably be more convenient and cheaper to swap any spoilt part by ourselves. hence the "plea" to xoticpc to review their prices for international orders. If i can't give discounts, then they should tongue.gif

I suggested a grace period of 30days for warranty in exchange for a reduction in price for orders to M'sia. Waiting to see what they say.

Aikzz the 10% affiliate discount thing is gone ???

Haihz I think I'll just settle on other laptops then, I'll get a Sager next when my laptop-which-I-havent-bought-yet-but-buying-this-month expires.

Who knows, maybe in the future we will have local Sager dealers and the warranty works anywhere and most importantly, the price will drop ! ( Good way of being optimistic )  biggrin.gif
*
10% isn't that much of a difference. it's like another module of RAM i guess. but one thing is for sure, the longer you wait ... the better laptops become rclxub.gif biggrin.gif

I'm back! From my exciting and lovely (read: boring and torturing) vacation!

Anyway, if anyone wish to purchase elsewhere or check local availability read here.
*
haha, welcome back ! so far, xoticpc still offers the best deal for sager notebooks. din't bring your sager along to game ? brows.gif

QUOTE(kirakun @ Jan 16 2009, 12:26 PM)
Hi there, seems like a bit quiet here? hehe. Anyway confirmed my order together with the payment already. Now waiting for the update status of my lappie.

Added on January 16, 2009, 12:31 pmOh ya additional info for those who are planning to tt through online banking in the near future, u need to add additional US23 per transaction beside the rm10 fee for our bank here.
*
a further USD23 ? thats odd, i've only encountered my own bank charges. which sager did you get ? rclxms.gif

QUOTE(booby @ Jan 16 2009, 12:48 PM)
9800 GT for desktop and laptop different rite, i mean the size? Lets say it gets overheated and burnt, is there any local company that manufacture 9800 GT for laptops?
*
it won't overheat if you take care of it smile.gif the cooling on this laptop is superb. i don't think you can get OEM 9800M locally.

QUOTE(22 @ Jan 16 2009, 08:24 PM)
Sad to hear about the 10%, corad. BTW, you O/C your CPU via altering the CPU FSB in BIOS, yes?
*
yeap the old school way of overclocking tongue.gif sager support hasn't replied my emails about DIY unlocking multipliers though.

then did you guys have to TT it over again ? pay the bank twice for transfer charge ?

if that is the case, i would actually complain since they did state that their bank does not charge for TT.

i havent kena this problem before. but it does sound unfair, considering you guys TT the requested amount over, then have to add in abit more after that. so 2x the bank charges doh.gif sweat.gif

No idea about the extra charges bro but the amount xoticpc acknowledge received was us23 less than the amount that i bank wired to them. Anyway i ordered a sager np9262(posted a few times in my previous posts bro doh.gif ).

As for unlocking the cpu multiplyer request, here's the reply from them:

Hello, thank you for your email.  I am sorry we are not aware of having any of our laptops overclock the CPU.    If your friend found a way to do so, this would be at your disgression.

We provide the machines one way and if your friend found a way to do it, then you should also.

Please let us know how we can be of further assistance.

Thanks,

XOTIC PC Service Department

doh.gif

I guess that end of the journey to unlock my cpu multiplyer. Previously who did u refer to, to unlock your cpu corad?

Btw corad, did u have any sales representative from xoticpc sales department to follow up your order? Seems like mine's a bit delayed in the process of acknowledment of my 2nd or complete payment. Don't ask why i made it into 2 separate payment as it is our bank policy that for any online foreign tt=max limit for a day transaction=rm10k.
*
nope, i din't go through any representative. just ordered, and requested through the "Additional Info" box to have my multipliers unlocked. (not OC the CPU). Most of the emails I received were template type where they thank you for the payment and give a status update on your laptop. A few days later I get the "Laptop Shipped" email smile.gif

Straight forward case for me.

wow, your lappie cost more than 10k brows.gif notworthy.gif

Never though of complaining though ATM since I did it in the same day and they too checked and received it in the same day  thumbup.gif .

Anyway it would be good if you could mention it to them.
*
i can't do much man. sorry sad.gif

you would have to email them if you're unsatisfied.

QUOTE(kirakun @ Jan 18 2009, 11:23 AM)
Yeap same goes to me but in my case i had to pay additional US23x2 as the tt had to be done in 2 consequtive days. Actually was expecting a better feedback and customer service as my laptop is considered 'premium laptop' but instead the opposite scenario happened. Hopefully it is just me as this issue can seriously affect the reputation of xoticpc.

As for unlocking cpu's multipliers, i did request for it through mail and stated specifically "unlock my cpu multiplier" not oc my cpu but the reply i got was !@# as mentioned above. Guess the guy who replied my mail was not actually from technical department lol.

Anyway i'll wait until monday, reafirm with my bank(maybank) that the tt did went through then i'll decide the next course of action which include requesting for a full refund(if xoticpc still haven't receive my tt yet).
*
i see problem are cropping up on this thread >< hopefully will be helpful to future buyers so they'll have something to refer to . but hope it's just a snag on xoticpc's side and that your laptop goes through... (with no more hassale drool.gif )

Buy from Xotic PC or Eurocom and forget about the warranty. There's a good chance of your local retailer willing to help you to fix your machine if there's a problem at a price. Contact them and see what they say.

"Hello, I'm so not buying from you guys but could you fix my machine if it screwed up?"

JFF... biggrin.gif.

haha, i second this. xoticpc is the cheapest (and good quality) , never tried eurocom before, but with the pounds dropping ... might be a good time ? tongue.gif tongue.gif

Well where do I start hehe, the box was big, weighing over 20kg LOL. The packaging was nice, tight and fit. Moving to the lappie, it was thicker, bulkier and heavier than I expected. But if compared to my Sony vaio, the np9262 is smaller in term of it's width. Anyway will continue the review later as I'm in hurry atm, catching my flight to kl LOL.
