Excuse my noobness, any 2.5" sata hdd will do for the PS3, or is there a current size limit ? Thinking of upgrading the puny 40GB in my unit. Advisable for self installation ? Or should i just bring it to GH ? I'll retain my saves, DLC and etc by using the backup feature beforehand correct ?

As for capacity, sky is the limit I think. I saw somewhere on the tubes where ppl connected 1TB 3.5" drives using long sata cable and PS3 is still able to recognise & utilise the large drive.Tq tq tq. |

Self installation is recommended and VERY EASY if you hv the right size of Philip screw driver. Tq tq tq. And, yes, u must have an extra external HDD for backup/restore purposes. judging by the amount games i will have in future and Zero demos i download, 40 GB is still good for me.
if i change, i want 2 have the 7200RPM drives. 320 GB is massive.. maybe for those who likes to store their demos, avi movies on their PS3. 160 is just nice for me |

my download speed for ps3 content is 1mb for 7 second...it's like 1Gb for 1 hour approximately . streamyx at seri kembangan have better speed, compare to my old house place....but i still not updating my ps3 to 2.5 yet....

video podcast of over 1.5 gigs... @_@ Gotta be in blu ray... downloading now. I initially got pissed off since when I tried to download it said I don't have enough space so I had to quit PSN store. HDTV Bug in PS3 2.50 Firmware
PS3 currently incompatible with top-line Sony home theatres. by Narayan Pattison, IGN AU Australia, October 19, 2008 - Last week Sony released firmware 2.50 for the PS3. However, in a bizarre turn of events the latest firmware prevents the PS3 from displaying an image on some state-of-the-art Sony home theatres. We installed firmware 2.50 yesterday only to be greeted by a blank screen. After much swearing and trouble-shooting we discovered it was the Sony amp/receiver that was incompatible with the new firmware. We were able to get a picture again by cutting the Sony amp out of the loop and going straight into the projector. For the record the IGN AU PS3 setup includes a 7.1 Sony amp/receiver supporting 1080p over HDMI and a 1080p Sony projector. The fact that the new firmware renders the PS3 unusable with this top-line Sony home theatre is utterly boggling. On a related note, while trouble-shooting the problem we hooked the PS3 up to the projector via composite and also found that it's currently only displaying a black and white image over this video signal. These are both quite serious bugs to sneak through with the latest firmware. We contacted Sony Computer Entertainment Australia about when this issue will be addressed and they are currently looking into the problem. We'll update you as soon as we hear more. Time for some ranting.
Boot up Bioshock. Game loaded. Started playing. Was about to fry a splicer standing in the water (a Trophy achievement). PS3 hangs. Lol.. some of you might be aware of me posting about my trophy list being fcuked. And after testing out Bioshock, I can confirm that, any games with Trophies in it.. my PS3 can't play them. When I am about to achieve a trophy, my PS3 auto hangs, everytime, without fail what luck |

Guys.
Am trying to start a discussion, so bear with me (beruang sama saya )The Last Remnant for the neighbours is just around the corner, but for us, its gonnabe a nother waiting game. Sometimes, I just wish Sony would invest more in 3rd party software. It was third party software that really helped PS1, PS2 days.I know Sony is really boosting first party software (RESISTANCE, KILLZONE, RATCHET AND CLANK, GT) but we need more.Obviously, we need RPGs. Good ones. Invesment, like what I typed above is in a type of buying exclusives. Granted, its gonna cost for them, but in the long run, Sony and gamers will be benefited. I am getting sick of Sony's snobbish attitude towards third party devs, while MS courts them like cheap hookers. Any thoughts? |

MS is bringing in appeal to the masses, and that begins with NXE. What Sony should do is almost similar, but don't forget the core gamers like Microsoft (Don't be a Nintendo gamer. The core gamers for the Wii are scratching when they don't have enough brutal games to play with at the moment).
But Sony doesn't have to buy exclusitivity, they should be encouraging other developers with new IPs. Dead Space was an amazing feat, why not find more of that? |

the thing is, I personally dont mind the multiplatform games that are /will be released cross platform at the same time. Look at FF13, because of the porting thing, we PS3 people have to wait for 360's release as well. Isnt that a bummer>? |

) jiran sebelah, dia pun marah FF13 kena delay pasal jiran sebelah.But then again, when ur thrown millions in ur face for such a request, it is a tough decision. yes multiplatform, but developers shud optimize for both consoles (The problem, let both sides punya console maker go berserk in a cash throwing game) yes new IPs, cuz with more prowess, more advancement, sum things shud be much more better achieved. (Example, Ape escape, best uses for analog stick) With that, we let the console makers fight their way to offer the best experience while we gamers simply enjoy. Currently, we're not. |

but at least, the least Sony can do for us is that extra mile. At least secure one title for us. Sony is really lacking in RPG (i dont know why they didnt release sequel to Legend of Dragoon yet, and where are those Syphon Filters!) to end or at least buffer the draught. Granted, many people multiconsole now. But there are still people like me that gave faith to Sony, all because of the 3rod hassle. Dont get me wrong, the games there are great, but the hassle of warranty etc is a no no for me personally. I just cant take comments like "Just enjoy your games until your machine 3rods" or " no guts no glory". Thats bullshit. Nobody wants to buy a die young machine. |

If Dragoon came out to PS3, u will hear another million of gamers pengsan in 1 shot. But, that would definitely bring Sony back up to their game.
Remake pun jadilah. I wudn't get me a 360 since failure rate is too high. U give me 3 years of warranty, but what if I can't get my machine done in the same day? I wanna keep playing. If my lens is dead, at the very least ada backup. So yeah, if Sony wants to get back up, it's not gonna be GOW3. It's gonna be Dragoon indeed. |

If ur a Wii gamer, ur at the very least glad that developers are trying to make sum games that are based on the creativity of what the console gives (do a google on Lets Tap by Sega). Even if the console ada banyak sangat shovelware (I am a frustrated Wii gamer, and I am just waiting for Mad World and No More Heroes 2)
Since PS3 got motion sensing, i think there's a lot more that can be done with the controller. I guess I'll let Sony be busy with trying to struggle with appealing to as many countries possible to get the PS3 installed. Once that's done, they should get back to their studios. Speaking of which, Capcom should be making Monster Hunter for Ps3 too. |

For Mario kart, fluid. Almost similar to Live when random pairing, but when u want to play with friends, prepare to enter 16 digit codes. And if both don't know, then u dun get lah connected.
Monster Hunter 3... I'm glad it's for Wii (the vids are amazing) but they should have it for PS3 also lah. Though, such a game seems more suitable for Live punya service. monster Hunter online was very big during ps2 online days. despite of being one of the earliest online enabled title on ps2, it was one of the last to be taken off online.
I hope those bigwigs in Capcom realize this fact. |

Our currency rate is slowly going back up, can see game prices are dropping by abit over at PA. Most evident is the R2's and GeOW2's CE price tag. I know cause I have been checking those 2 pages quite frequently.

For me, I registered Malaysian PSN because
1. I want Malaysian Flag displayed beside my name in online matched 2. I want to show Sony that in Malaysia there are gamers and this will pressure them to make the PSN for Malaysia faster. I urge you guys, just create a Malaysian account, even if you guys dont want to use it as your main account. At least when they extract the numbers, they know we mean business. Lets take advantage of the support here. |
