When PS fanboys screw the Wii,
they label it "last-gen graphic" while ignoring the fact that they have great games.
Keep quacking that Wii is a fad, and it sold because Shigeru cast some voodoo spell on the machines.

Yes, the Wii does not bring FMV quality in real time, but the machine is still succesfull. IT seems that u based the Wii on its grpahic power, not those great games like Super Mario Galaxy and No More Heroes that was released on the system. Even how dull the the graphic was, the core thing about gaming machines is about the gameplay.

Why some of us still favour playing SNES? Because great gameplay can be found in the games that were released on that system.

Im just giving opinions, im not stating facts.

I have thought about this question why Wii is the best selling consoles for this current gen. We have to admit that there aren't many hardcore gamers around that is willing to fork out hundred or even thousands on a gaming machine. The Nintendo Wii has already won the war by introducing the cheapest yet affordably priced console. Parents looking for a gaming console for their kids will sure to get the cheapest console in the market. (As long as it keeps their kids satisfied, it'll do). Playstation 3 has already lost the current gen war. Nevertheless, I still hope they keep on churning out great titles for hardcore gamers and in the meantime, learn their mistake and rebound back to reclaim their past glory under Playstation 4!

At least you are not in the state of denial unlike other fanboys But as a fanboy, how do you feel seeing PS3 exclusives going to 360 and 360's going to PS3?

Edit: I don't agree with you PS3 has already lost though. There are still many games yet to come out like GT5 and GOW3, we'll see.

Haha, gundamalpha, i mean PS3 has already lost the war because I don't think they can exceed the total number of Wii sales in this current generation. Though there might be upcoming great titles for the PS3, I don't think PS3 sales will increase significantly (unless they reduce the price which Sony wouldn't want to now).

As for games going over to 360, I don't really mind. Great games are meant to be played/enjoyed no matter on which consoles. The most important aspect is that a great game should reach a wider audience in order for them to be appreciated/enjoyed. I don't really fancy the X360 due the RROD. I admit they have great library (GOW, Star Ocean, blue Dragon etc) but asking us consumers to spend thousands on a console that can go 'bongkus' in weeks is totally unacceptable. That is why i am still avoiding the X360 and got a PS3.

@ Thrust - Your argument made sense and logical, u r a civilised fanboy Not like some fanboys that yell homophobic or degrading words on the "other camp".

I really dun mind where those exclusive goes to, i can't buy all of them anyway. However.... I got a 360 instead of PS3, due to impulse buying, no other reasons. I might get a PS3 when the impulse hit me during my payday.

@ Gundamalpha - Dude i dun agree. The war is over, and the ranking is done. MS as a company is much more savvy and aggressive, they are not like SEGA during Saturn/Dreamcast days. MS has so much at stake, they are trying very hard to sustain their momentum.

Although profitable, MS Empire is under attack. MS have lost the Yahoo bid, Google/IBM is attacking their Office hegemony, Cloud computing is rendering OS unimportant..... MS will need another viable earning source, which currently look like XBOX business is the answer. Honestly, looking at MS and SONY management track record, I would think MS management has what it takes to secure 2nd place, and make decent profit. SONY need a new CEO, period.

It doesn't matter who has the best technology really, the strategy & MGMT quality of the company matter the most. look at history:
Window 95 VS OS/2 - OS/2 is better, but the old IBM screwed at everything.
N64 VS PS1 - N64 has better specs, but Nintendo lost to the new kid on the block. (Oh, GameCube VS PS2 as well)
Concorde VS Boeing 747 - Concorde is supersonic! UK + France airlines were forced to buy Concorde, no other airline give a shit.
VHS VS Betamax - Betamax is the pro! But the common man just love their porn better on VHS.

It's sad to see the previous champ being beaten in this current gen though Their major wrong move was the massive development cost put into developing the PS3 thus higher console's pricing. I do believe SONY is able to wrestle back to the top spot if they develop the Playstation 4 with an enhanced CELL BE chip instead of using a different chip. This could lead to lower development cost thus affordably priced console

My prediction for this current gen will be:-

Nintendo Wii
Playstation 3
X360

The reason why I mentioned Playstation 3 will be the runner up is because their sales figure is marginally increasing bit by bit against X360. Once SONY announce a price cut, sales will boost. I believe there are many Americans out there which is frustrated with the X360 due to RROD. So once SONY reduce the price of their console, sales will definitely jump.

Going into PS4, should SONY wants to take back the crown they will have to be very very innovative.
Tech Spec is important, but still secondary to innovation.
Think of Nintendo, Apple Inc, Google, Starbucks.... Innovation makes them tons of profit.
DS & Wii are the best example, the game industry was transformed and money were made.
SONY have to make PS4 that is something so genius, and so desireable, and affordable, to win the competition.
Just like how they did it with Walkman.

Look at SONY, oh poor SONY. Walkman is not nearly as loved as iPod now.
Playstation has lost to Wii & 360.
Bravia? UMD? Memory Stick? Vaio?.... sexy, but not enough to kill LG Samsung Panasonic Apple....

just to clarify, i'm not stating this to prove that one console is better than the other. i still think it just all boils down to the game developers, or bad time/resource management on their part, or bad QC, or just their basic inexperience/unwillingness dealing with a different toolset.

so if a game turns out good on one console, but not so good on the other, and if one really wants to point the finger or put the blame on someone, i think it should be the developers themselves. case in point: bethesda studios and fallout 3. some of the glitches i've heard happening on the ps3, like the game freezing when someone receives notification from PSN, seems unbelievable that it was able to pass through QC undetected. and bethesda's response to that was not promising a patch, like how 2k games promised a patch for bioshock ps3 shortly after it was released. their response was just this: click me!. i understand that it's difficult to detect bugs sometimes, especially in a game the size of fallout, but some of the reported bugs/glitches were pretty obvious.

this of course led to another fanboy war saying one console is better than the other. so my suggestion would be, why point your guns at each other, and just all collectively take it out on the developer instead? this may result in better QC for all platforms in the future as you have mounting pressure from owners of both platforms, even if a glitch only happens on 1 platform.

very utopian i know, but hey, one can dream, haha

now dats a new perspective..but it makes sense.the only reason why some games are not up to par could b due to developers negligience=) i believe all consoles have their own collection of great games and features..i'm glad this topic didnt draw much flak.thanx for the opinions and thoughs,guys and girls..

the only reason sony is falling behind is due to price.. it is a great console but if its to expensive then not everyone can afford it.. see how many merz on the road compare to kancil..

may be to afford the console would not be a matter but the game it self is another problem... the console is just few hundred expensive but the game is much more since u buy the console once but the game is many many time..

now wii is to most cheapest and affordable console in new gen era... so ppl will mostly go for that.... if sony can lower down the price of their game and hardware, they could win this round...

as for the game ported to other console which eliminate the exclusive ness.. some will feel angry and some cant care much on that... but really wats the big fuss.... if i am the developer also i will do the same... botom line these company need money to survive... so if they dies who gonna make new game? i have an xbox and i dont really mind if any of the title goes there as long inreturn there are game from there goes here... fair trade does it...
