now they use 3 colors label

green - slow, low power drive
blue - label color for caviar, caviar SE and caviar SE16
black - performance drive

Are there any difference in using a cheap RM20 and an expensive RM150 external enclosure? Most probably the more expensive enclosure is better at dissipating heat, but apart from that, will the life span of the hard disk be shorter or more risky if using a cheap enclosure? Will speed be different even if both are USB 2?

I just got my WD MyBook 1TB this afternoon. Just ran a diagnostic test using WD's own diagnostic tool.

Not even 30 minutes later...

Bloody unlucky sleep.gif Gonna stay away from WD for future purchases

Added on October 24, 2008, 7:40 amGah. I ran a CHKDSK /R and no bad sectors were detected. Now running WD's diagnostics again; 1 hour into the test, it's still going on rclxub.gif

Similar case to my current internal HDD - chkdsk detects 4kb on bad sector, Dell's diagnostics pick up nothing doh.gif GAH!

Isn't that Western Digital also providing such similar anti-shock packaging when they send back a HDD to customer after RMA? unsure.gif

I did not do any RMA before *touchwood sweat.gif* but I remember once I bought a 2nd hand HDD from a forumer and he passed to me inside a Western Digital RMA packaging like the one mADmAN posted smile.gif
