I would rather put 2 WESTERN DIGITAL GREEN POWER DRIVES running RAID mode.. faster and save power..

Hey all,

I am looking to upgrade my Dell notebook HD to a SATA 7200 RPM hd. I went to digital mall today, and no one carries any 7200 RPM HD. Anyone has any idea where i can get one?

For 7.2k rpm 2.5" notebooks hdds u can try and find in lowyat plaza, but bear in mind that 7.2krpm hdds are much more expensive than 5.4k one. for 160gb 7.2k u can get 250gb 5.4k,just my 2 cents.

anyway, for raid 0 , how to backup the files in hdd since the hdd is running in raid 0?

for the 7200rpm is more suitable for used on laptop rather than used as external usb purpose.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the response. I have actually called PC zone and other pc shops in lowyat, and none of them carry any 7200 rpm 2.5 internal HD for notebooks. Any ideas or anyone ever bought a 7200 rpm in Lowyat? Thanks in advance smile.gif

Err... backup using another non-raid HDD?

Here's my current setup, utilizing all 6 sata ports on my mobo:
160gb
160gb
160gb = RAID0

320gb = System / Storage (Normal partition)

eSata = 640gb (this is where I backup my files. I don't do a 100% backup though, just some selected files)

..and a sata optical drive.

Well if you read the 500GB hdd round-up a few pages back:

Thanks but so which one do you suggest to get ? well just to install games around 250GB is enough.Which brand is better?

WD and seagate is good but seagate got 5 years warranty while WD got 3 only. Since HDD spoil easy more warranty is better but I still prefer WD over seagate because my 3 previous seagate HDD never live more than 2 years.

However, seagate and WD has improve since then so I'm sure seagate is a good buy. If you got the money just go for min 500GB since games size is getting bigger and you might need it for other purpose.
