wanna ask sth about garmin mobile XT. i'm using version 5.00.40.
while viewing the map (not navigating), POIs are shown on the map.
while navigating from pointA to pointB, POIs are NOT SHOWN, only my target destination is marked with a chequered flag. is this normal? how to show the POIs while navigating?

u cant update it using ur old map
u need to find d latest maps(download from garmin websitez) paste/replace into ur garmin root folder..

i think it should be under tool>setting>map>map feature>POI --> small label

got question wanna ask here. can Sony Ericsson use this MFM gps map?

i doubt there'll be any any performance difference. A refurbished unit is just a repaired one.

there are many phones with gps feature. for example, nokia n78,n79,n95,n96,n97,n86, 6220c, navigator series...
the phone has built in gps receiver. the phones stated above are running symbian s60. other phones (sony ericsson and iphone, those pda phone) not running symbian also may have gps fucntion too.

gps can work with or without wifi. google maps needs wifi. garmin and nokia works well without wifi. nothing to do with 3G too unless u wanna download map faster into your phone (if the map is currently not in yuor phone).

For phones without GPS built-in, you can pair up with external GPS device through Bluetooth.

just get the MFM. its free and full with POI.
no need waste your money. i have used both and i find that MFM is much better compared to the City Navigator.
MFM even shows ur favourite mamak stall nearby while city navigator just searches for starbucks and kfc.
conclusion MFM is more to malaysian style.
i just tested it in malaysia. been using it frequently(5 month). MFM can even detect ALAM (akademi laut malaysia). which is in melaka...very ulu place.
and if u got option to pick between MFM and MSM. go for MFM. u'll seriously enjoy.
