wanna ask sth about garmin mobile XT. i'm using version 5.00.40.
while viewing the map (not navigating), POIs are shown on the map.
while navigating from pointA to pointB, POIs are NOT SHOWN, only my target destination is marked with a chequered flag. is this normal? how to show the POIs while navigating?

ok i am confused

which phone can use GPS ?

is it phone with GPS receiver ? or any symbian phone model ?

and can GPS be used with WIFI? i seen u guys talk only with 3g
*
there are many phones with gps feature. for example, nokia n78,n79,n95,n96,n97,n86, 6220c, navigator series...
the phone has built in gps receiver. the phones stated above are running symbian s60. other phones (sony ericsson and iphone, those pda phone) not running symbian also may have gps fucntion too.

gps can work with or without wifi. google maps needs wifi. garmin and nokia works well without wifi. nothing to do with 3G too unless u wanna download map faster into your phone (if the map is currently not in yuor phone).

i'll try to finish up kundasang and ranau area. u can have any other area apart from those 2.
*
the current MFM already covers main road through kundasang and ranau, unless u wanna make those small kampung road leading into the jungle. anyway, good effort rclxms.gif .

is there any way to get navigation free of charge at least without voice ?? i knw map is free but it's very hard to locate exact direction (turn left/right) without those arrows biggrin.gif jst trying my luck hehe
*
legally, you can't do that...unless you're using a hacked version of the software. i'm not sure whether changing the date trick still works.

i tried MFM 1.54 and it lack a lot of detail and location compared to MSM gold. many place where MSM have the location...MFM dont  rclxub.gif

anyway im from sarawak. MSM is definately the better one  nod.gif
*
OMG where have you been? MFM is already at v1.69. but the latest 1.69 has missed some poi from 1.68. (will be fixed in net released) so, imo, it's better to download 1.68.

i wonder how's the performance of nokia navigator's (such as 6210 or 6710) gps as compared to other nokias such as n78, n79, n82...?

besides the lifetime licence for the nokia maps (very little POIs but fast image rendering), is the signal stronger? better accuracy? faster sat-lock?

Hello.. sorry for my question.. little bit confuse..

Our telco will charge if we turn A-GPS enabled right? Because it use GPRS/EDGE/3G/HSDPA packet data to transfer/receive..

Now i'm using Celcom 3G Broadband.. 3.6Mpbs(RM98) package. If i turn A-GPS on, do i need to pay any additional bil for A-GPS?
*
there should be no additional charges.

want bit idea about the free Nokia Ovi maps for couple of phones..any help?
*
if you're new to phone gps, nokia ovi maps is the perfet place to start with. it has very fast initial gps satellite lock down period, and the map can be panned around and zoomed in/out without any lag. unluckily, the roads and POIs are awfully skimpy.
