QUOTE(heizad @ Jan 3 2009, 01:03 AM) i'm not sure whether i'm correct or not..but default multiplier for this proc is 12.5 rite..but my mobo support up to 12 only... Yeah E 5200 default multi is 12.5xI read that, on some mobo, one must activate something in Bios to make use of '.5x' May be this is what happens to you now. My Asus P5QL Pro dun have this problem. Maybe sifus out there can provide guidance?? Any one?? |

Check the System Memory Multiplier (SPD), usually on "AUTO"... Otherwise set Memory Frequency to a fixed frequency of your RAM...
Here is a short guide on each settings.. ![]() Added on January 3, 2009, 3:47 amIf there is DES settings, the turn it off... it might interfere with overclocking. This post has been edited by lex: Jan 3 2009, 03:47 AM |

my ram is 800mhz ... so i need to set my fsb to 400fsb so that can run at 800mhz for ram ?
320 x 12.5 400 x 10.0 is it correct ? |

QUOTE(steventan85 @ Jan 3 2009, 04:15 AM) my ram is 800mhz ... so i need to set my fsb to 400fsb so that can run at 800mhz for ram ? Here's a simple explanation...320 x 12.5 400 x 10.0 is it correct ? If you want to run at 320MHz system bus (1280MHz FSB) with the RAM at 800MHz... then set the memory multiplier to 2.50 which gives you... 2.50 x 320MHz = 800MHz If you want to run at 400MHz system bus (1600MHz FSB) with the RAM at 800MHz... then set the memory multiplier to 2.00 which gives you... 2.00 x 400MHz = 800MHz If you are going for 4GHz, then I would suggest you have to pump up the CPU voltage a bit.. plus a good 3rd party HSF for long running.... For your information (in case other forummers mentioned about "dividers / ratio")... Memory multiplier (SPD) = Divider 2.50 = 4/5 3.00 = 2/3 2.00 = 1/1 2.40 = 5/6 3.20 = 5/8 3.33 = 3/5 4+ = 1/2 This post has been edited by lex: Jan 3 2009, 09:55 AM |

for SPD , i can only choose 2.66 , 3.33 and 4+ .... i cant get 2.0 for me to choose ....
so now my FSB : DRAM is 3:5 ...kind of weird This post has been edited by steventan85: Jan 3 2009, 12:43 PM |

I suggest OC CPU and Ram individually, no need ratio..

More like frequency. Not all CPUs got unlocked multiplier...
Only C2Es and AMD BEs frm what I understand |
