i was using stock cooler to get 3.4ghz stable..

check my post at page6.. (4th one)

..but i think my 13k 3dmark score is mainly due to my graphic card, since my bro with proc that performs almost same as mine get around 4k marks with 8500gt..

The CPU is 2.5Ghz right? But Vista is showing 1.9Ghz. I tried to set the multiply in BIOS (G31 mobo) but the max is 12X200Mhz = 2.4Ghz. Any thought?

i highly doubt its ur GC...

coz i have an E8400 (stock) + Zotac 9800GT Amp! in the office and if im not mistaken im getting around 12+

besides.... 3dmark06 is VERY CPU dependant... so its ur CPU thats seriously boosting up ur score.

Look at his resolution, its 1024x768, resolution does affect the bench as well. I doubt u use higher resolution thats why get 12k.

yes it is 1280x1024 if u didnt touch anything from it, if reduced resolution sure can shoot higher, so best way dont change setting if not u hard to compare the results with other.

check ur EIST or C1E settings in the bios..its the kind of the intel seepdstep techology..reduces multiplier when idling and uses all multiplier at load...

or maybe try update mobo firmware ..
since my e5200 set its multiplier to 6 and that's like 1.2ghz when speedstepping..
just my 2cents...

btw.. i only get 11390pt when using default resolution.. sweat.gif
my old ss used 1024x768 because i using old 4:3 crt monitor
and removed my stock thermal paste so cant run 3dmark at 1280x1024..
therefore i just posted my old 3dmarks screenshot..
sorry for confusion caused.. notworthy.gif
now using tuniq tx-2 and reduced the temp by like 5c when full load.. smile.gif

Thank for ur info bro...

GO for E5200, X2 3800+ only can score 1400+- compare to E5200 can got 2400+- in 3dmarks06 under normal frequency. If Overcloak E5200 still the winner.coz E5200 can oc more than X2 3800. E5200 is means to fight X2 5000+ and above AMD model. X2 3800 only can compare to E2160.
