new e5200 user with Biostar Tpowwah i45 report in...

err...this e5200 is not so good ler...just so so overclocker...with default voltage, i can reach 2.9 stable...(same with my prev e2180)....at tat speed, the temp oledy can reach 60*c full load....(once again exactly the same as my prev e2180)...

this proc feel like my prev 2180. with additional 1MB cache....the low voltage seem didnt do anything to the temp....iam using my old fat stock cooler tat i get from my prev e2180 btw.....i wonder how the temp gonna scream if i just use the very thing stock cooler they provide...

i think the main problem here is not the lower voltage....its the temp it self....

next step Ocing report coming soon...

Added on October 9, 2008, 8:37 amya ya i got it...my mistake sorry guys iam noob....

this is e5200, not e2 series....so we suppose to Oc it the right way...not the old e2 series way...

u have to use the 12.5 Multiplier advantage......low fsb is the key

now im on 272x12.5= 3.41Ghz 1.3vcore....i try orthos max temp just 64*c only.... with my fat stock cooler...acceptable...hihi now i got my self a 3.4 Ghz proc...high fsb just didnt work with this proc

such High fsb monster Biostar I45 wasted... doh.gif

i play mine till 1.375v 3.6Ghz...stock cooler lagi...max temp barely touch 72*c

your 1.33v should do at least 3.4 stable....

if you'r 1st timer oc....just adjust the fsb without having to adjust the voltage....its call save overclocking....i recon this e5200 should do at least 2.9-3.0 with stock volage....

goodluck

depent on your luck....the earlyer batch have a good chance to reach it...

but honestly i would say...this proc is better in term of overclockablity than the e6 series....mine can boot at 3.7 at certain voltage...

e5200 is a good processor....it just got 1 drawback....the fsb is limited to 320-350.....mine can only go 330....but they provide it with a high Multiplier so u still can go up to 4Ghz if u have the guts...

why i can pass intel burntest but fail orthos at 5 min? gaming 2 hour also no problem.

need to bump your voltage abit....stock voltage alone is not enuff to supply 3.30Ghz....geminII should be not problem if your bump up the volt abit...

ya this was indeed a good budget overclocker chip.....OC to 3.2-3.6Ghz should be enuff ATM for your gaming needs...this is a better choice compare to e2 series.....bang for buck.....the only drawback is....after u play with it for awhile, u will start to feel boring and want more out of it.....sadly, i just cannot give u anymore and u'll start to think, why dun i go straight for the OEM e0e8 series....its hard to explain but the word is anticlimax doh.gif
