You set your CPU multiplier in BIOS correctly?
I'm using E8400 3Ghz but my BIOS detected it as 2.66Ghz. I need to manually change it to 3Ghz.

The CPU is 2.5Ghz right? But Vista is showing 1.9Ghz. I tried to set the multiply in BIOS (G31 mobo) but the max is 12X200Mhz = 2.4Ghz. Any thought?

Those new mobo stock mostly can run the CPU without update the bios because it is shipped with latest bios already.
