my iPhone 3g is singtel set, yesterday I update to os 3.0 edi. Now I want to jailbreak it wif redsnow, do I nid to restore it again wif the 3.0 file again??

guys.. i wan to upgrade.. to 3.0.. ready the files yesterday.. then, just now, downloaded redsow.. wen i brows for ipsw.. in the FOLDER i hv dled earlier, iPhone1,1_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw, there is no ipsw file.. just a bunch of something that i dont think i should mess with..

is it because of itunes 8.1?

I can't find it, It say upgrade to os 3.0 den use redsnow. I mean tat I edi in 3.0, do I nid to restore it again wif 3.0 firmware file?? Sorry noob lar....

Then do what it says lah! You have already done the first part, then use Redshow to do the rest. What is so complicated about that? If in the process in Redsnow requires to restore again with the 3.0 firmware, then so be it. Adoi!!!

Are you just making this up or you can't read. Like what setoyo mentioned. Read the guide and follow the steps. If you have updated to 3.0, then the next time is so obvious in the guide.

Always read first please. Noob or no noob. Reading provides u knowledge. That's the whole purpose why the guides are there. Not for decoration.

I was a bloody noob too once, but rather than annoy the hell out of everyone here with your incessant whinings, I trusted my own judgment and tried it on my own first. Have you no confidence in yourself that you have to resort to asking even the minute and simplest little thing to everyone else here?

in redsnow itself have instruction that so easy to understand & follow.

Not sure you status now... but here's things you need :
1) iTunes 8.2
2) Firmware 3.0 file (.ipsw format, not .zip)
Note : if .zip, DO NOT extract it out, just rename it back to .ipsw
3) read up the URL links provided here
4) Do some on-hands job
5) If failed... do read up again until you really understand
6) Try again

Nothing will clear you up, if you don't even step out to do it at the first place.
Your noob questions (everybody had been a noob too, not only you) will become NOOB if you do no reading at all, rite ?

Is it ok to manually replace the sms.db and notes.db file in OS3.0?

Just now i tired to replace my notes.db and sms.db through SSH, after that i press the respring button on the sbsetting, ends up the phone keep on respring, even after i reboot the phone.

now have to restore the phone again

SSH worked for you?
damn 1 hour i trying to SSH but still failed.
