i sense a price cut coming very soon.  EVGA GTX260 is selling less than RM800 after conversion without mail in rebate at newegg.

Price cut at malaysia will be effective either the supplier clear the old stock, which they bought from nvidia or ati company before price cut, or the nvidia or ati promise to give them discount on the next stock. But i think usually they go for clear stock la.. so we need to wait like 1-2months only u can see huge price drop.

price positioning will come before Christmas provided new GTX 55nm is coming. Like it or not, there will be a price cut for the holiday season.

yup

especially rams..
if u quote the serial number to the manufactorer... will be invalid.
two mobo's i had to be rmaed via newegg last time

one was the evga 680
and the asus striker extreme

both manufactorer said send back to newegg and they will cover charges to ship it back to the buyer
in this case my couz in idaho..

guys, is there a huge performance difference between HD4870 512MB & 1GB? their price difference is around RM160.

it seems like from these reviews, only a slight FPS difference.

http://www.techspot.com/article/125-fallout3-performance/
http://www.techspot.com/review/123-farcry2-performance/

btw, i'm planning on gaming @ at least 1680x1050 on ultra-high settings. any opinions?

1680 * 1050 is 19" - 22" only la.
512 version is more den capable 2 handle dis resolution.

1gb version is pretty much for those who own 24" but dun wanna spend 2 much on 4870x2 or gtx280.

well, it doesn't harm 2 hav more memory, but wit 4k series, i really dun recommend it unless u really need.
coz those extra vram chip also generate heat.
may b will end up a little bit hotter PBC compared to 512 version.
