agree, human eyes can really notice the lag once fps drop bellow ~20.
dats y 30fps is always consider smooth..........................
u wont differentiate if the game run @ 30fps constantly vs. 60fps constantly...........
but ~25 will feel the slowdown.

i have tried the guide given by a member of this forum and it didnt work


1 my system is a pentium D 930 desktop pc
with 4GB ddr2 667MHz ( or 3.5 GB for x86)
720 GBs (total of 4 harddisk) running at 7200 RPM
OS: windows xp pro sp3

2, catalyst 8.10 , 8.11 beta ( tried both - nothing changes , still the same problem)


whenever i play cs 1.6 zombie mod with night vision on , the fps will usually drop from 60 -70 to below 13 or so , it never happen when i use my nvidia 6600 TD .

also i get bluescreen sometimes when my sister play those casual game from yahoo, reflexive which also never happen when use 6600

finally i also get " zero display service error" whenever i install the driver and CCC .

i remove all ATI files and registry which i can find before reinstall but still same problem keep surfacing .

hope some pros here can help me out or its just stupid ati driver that cannot work on openGL.

Added on November 11, 2008, 3:36 ami own 4670 and so far i play red alert 3 and "medal of honor- air borne" with ultra optimum setting with very little lag from red alert (when major explosion) and all smooth on air borne . i think u cannot get that smooth when using 4650 . i am happy with the performance as it is cheap and dosnt require additional power to "juice" this card and still can get good graphic result. it is worth with every penny i spent on it

the only problem is that it seems cannot support well with openGL (which what i hate zZzz )
i guess if u want something "BIG and CHEAP" there surely some defect in it

i wanted to ask that at the dxdiag screen, those who are using vista sp1, what did it show? Mine is directx 10 only.

Friend..this has been argued countless time and proven....60fps made a hell lot of difference compared to 30fps.

yup, last time when i played wow i turned on v-sync so fps stuck at 60, after that i turned it off and fps goes up to 100+ can really see the difference especially when u're on your flying mount and look around.

arguably 30fps is good enough BUT to have an average at 30fps means it could potentially have drop to below 25fps.

having 60 fps on the other hand, even if it drop 30 frames it is still nicely playable.

IMO best is still 60 fps while 25 fps is the minimum average but 25 on average would also mean you're gonna lag sooner or later. (yes, like what i mentioned in 1st sentence).

yeah, the leak version of AC comes out 2 weeks b4 official launch.............
the game will crash no matter wat every time u enter Juruselem.
u'll notice wen during those "slow" part of the game.

like example a game is running @ 30fps, may b during intense firefight will drop to ~20.
where if a game running @ 60fps, it drop to may b 40 - 50fps.

dis is y u feel the different.

30fps still not visible for d lagging...
my anime run @25+fps and dont see any laggish...
maybe it depends on d eyes itself...
mine still ok under 30fps...just dont go under 20...

ya ur rite bro..if under 30fps it will fell a bitt sloww .. all ur movement will delay a bit ...
