hi sorry for late reply as i was busy with my college stuff ,

i have tried the guide given by a member of this forum and it didnt work

1 my system is a pentium D 930 desktop pc
with 4GB ddr2 667MHz ( or 3.5 GB for x86)
720 GBs (total of 4 harddisk) running at 7200 RPM
OS: windows xp pro sp3

2, catalyst 8.10 , 8.11 beta ( tried both - nothing changes , still the same problem)

whenever i play cs 1.6 zombie mod with night vision on , the fps will usually drop from 60 -70 to below 13 or so , it never happen when i use my nvidia 6600 TD .

also i get bluescreen sometimes when my sister play those casual game from yahoo, reflexive which also never happen when use 6600

finally i also get " zero display service error" whenever i install the driver and CCC .

i remove all ATI files and registry which i can find before reinstall but still same problem keep surfacing .

hope some pros here can help me out or its just stupid ati driver that cannot work on openGL.

tnaks for helping in advance

Wow the post is 1800+. Learn a couple of stuff here.

Anyway, anybody know how is the performance difference of

4650 ati 512 DDR2; with

and 4670 ati 512 DDR3

I heard makers purposely put a DDR2 on 4650 to "slow it down"

Cheers.

i own 4670 and so far i play red alert 3 and "medal of honor- air borne" with ultra optimum setting with very little lag from red alert (when major explosion) and all smooth on air borne . i think u cannot get that smooth when using 4650 . i am happy with the performance as it is cheap and dosnt require additional power to "juice" this card and still can get good graphic result. it is worth with every penny i spent on it icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

the only problem is that it seems cannot support well with openGL (which what i hate zZzz mad.gif mad.gif )
i guess if u want something "BIG and CHEAP" there surely some defect in it cry.gif cry.gif

hi i own one power color 4670 and it seems to be ok in terms of the cooler , not fancy but it does the work i try the highest setting when playing COD5- word at war

temperature is roughly 53C didnt reach 60 C which im happy about . also the design if this cooler ( from zoroterm) makes it easy to clean when dust are trap inside its fin m just use a fine brush will do the memory also covered with heatsink aswell smile.gif

just my point of view , hope u make a good choice for your self smile.gif

53 to 60? thats hot shocking.gif
my ASUS only linger around 40 degrees (load about 45 degrees) during hot day, and 32 degrees (load 40 degrees) in air conditioned room
so far nobody say anything about Gainward 4670, while people keep praising the 4850GS and 4870GS
and for HIS, heard that it's quite noisy, eh wait, was it you who said that? lol

what i mean is the card reach roughly 53 c when im playing "call of duty 5" under highest settings
normally less than 40 c when idle

hope this clears up abit smile.gif

oh forgot to mention i manually set the fan to work at 40 % but i dunno if the fan controller is working cos i barely hear the changes of the fans noise since most of the time it is barely audible be it 100 % or 40 % ... ill monitor the fan speed my self when im free smile.gif
