Errr.... are u sure ka?

Cannot beat 9600GSO lar... see this: http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php?card1=579&card2=563

Lose to 9600GSO on mem bandwidth, pixel fill rate and texture fill rate. Coz 9600GSO is 192 bit with faster shader.

Btw, I oso ATI fan but to be fair NV drivers more stable, and more games optimized for it.
so confident....

9600 GSO is a newname for 8600GT.

new name for 8800GS. 8600GT is like soooooooo far from the 9600GSO.

from what i read so far, look like 3870 has the edge but not far ahead when it comes to performance.

the HD4670 is better in power usage.

but u have to consider that certain games such as crysis and oblivion sucks at CF scaling, which means that in certain level of the the performance of CF is a lower than single card.

at least they still do scale. some games little to no boost in framerates with CF.

yup but sometimes the performance of CF is lower than single card, i experienced it when i played crysis and oblivion, where when i checked the gpu usage and it showed 30% for each cards  rclxub.gif
when i play Crysis with 3870x2, it was fast. a lot faster than 9800GTX, so I'm assuming it does CF well enough.

unlike some games, the 3870x2 felt like the 9600GT, such as Frontlines : FOW.

2600XT crossfire scale terribly.

it was. that's why my post ended with "but got power performance" - because HD4670 CF seems like got power. HD2600XT CF like sweat.gif ok la some games got some boost la, my 3dmark06 boosted only. other things end up yawn.gif only.......... well actually only tried on Lost Planet la but no boost.

last time i crossfire 2 2600 XT...................
haiz..........really really regretted............. cry.gif

that's the thing. 2600XT CF doesn't even feel as good as OCing 8600GT or getting 8600GTS. top up a bit more that time can get 8800GTS (G80) 384mb.

well, actually all stock cooling are sufficient for GCs.

if ever stock cooling is not suffiicient, it's because the owner has lousy casing air-flow. not the card's problem. smile.gif

but no fan control and gpu temp...

QUOTE(cyew86 @ Oct 17 2008, 10:08 AM)
seems like goldfries faces the same problem with his HD4670 as well, no fan control and temperature indicator
*
yes. i faces same thing. normally CCC has GPU activity and Temp indicator, regardless of whether you unlock the thing.

QUOTE(pikacu @ Oct 17 2008, 01:41 AM)
unlock ATI overdrive to see it
*
i didn't bother to unlock overdrive, simply because CCC has always come with the indicators and unlocking Overdrive just allows you to do adjustments, not making the dials appear.

I see no temperature reading also i find cacat already.

CCC no temp reading. HWmonitor also no temp reading. In the end, luckily GPU-Z got temp reading. biggrin.gif

ahhh 3dfx Voodoo, my 1st 3D accelerator. Had to work during college, save up RM 600 just to buy that card. biggrin.gif it's a PCI card that works with an AGP graphic card for 3D capability.

then there's Voodoo2 where you can SLI! biggrin.gif but those were the days, about a decade ago.

Friend..this has been argued countless time and proven....60fps made a hell lot of difference compared to 30fps.
arguably 30fps is good enough BUT to have an average at 30fps means it could potentially have drop to below 25fps.

having 60 fps on the other hand, even if it drop 30 frames it is still nicely playable. smile.gif

IMO best is still 60 fps while 25 fps is the minimum average but 25 on average would also mean you're gonna lag sooner or later. (yes, like what i mentioned in 1st sentence).
