QUOTE(Joseph Hahn @ Nov 3 2008, 10:47 AM) Just recently bought a Sapphire 4870x2 and coupled it with Viewsonic VX2835. I came when i played UT3. Previously used a Sapphire X1950GT with Acer AL2216WBD. I thought you weren't for real. Good card huh. I'm waiting for non-ref cooler (then at least can try and pwn gtx280 at games which are not crossfire optimised )

QUOTE(LeechFever @ Nov 3 2008, 01:02 PM) Ever wonder why if setting it up to 50% is better, why don't they just default it? I mean for (rich)beginner they might not know this at all and blow their money on coolant that does as good as 50% fan speed config. Wore out Ball bearing maybe but that just short live their warranty. Not good for business. Possible the noise? How much noise? Very much similar to my casing fans noise. At 50%, my card idles at around 60C. At default, it's around 70C. At 100% it's about 50C but the noise is probably louder than a vacuum cleaner.

QUOTE(cyew86 @ Nov 3 2008, 10:14 PM) for rm499 i would rather spend a bit more for 4850, or at least save up another rm50 for it from reviews i read, most of them successfully overclock their 4830 at 730Mhz core clock speed, which is far superior than 4850 core clock (625Mhz on stock) but not sure if the performance match the 4850

Not worthy if 4830 for about RM500. If OCed 4830 to higher than 4850 also stability is an issue.

QUOTE(LeechFever @ Nov 3 2008, 03:34 PM) Finally a witness. Thanks bro for clearing that up. Hmm i tried putting the fan at 100% after playing a game for a few minutes. The temp dropped to around 50C. Then i put it back at 50% the temp stays there. If i put around 30% it will rise again.

Palit 4850 Sonic's heatsink is exactly the same as 4850GS. Just that the cover design is different.
But at stock 700/1100, yes there will be no difference at all in the performance.
