I'm considering buying the ASUS EAH4850 recommended by one of my friend. However, when I check it out, there seem to be no problem except that it runs very hot up to 80C or more. ANyone own this can tell me if it's going to be any problem.

I know about coolant and fan that can reduce the temp but if someone can assure me that that are just normal temperature then I don't need to fork out extra money cause it's already at the threshold of my budget.

Increase the fan speed to 50% thru CCC 8.10 & u'll get a better temp like 60C idle.

Thanks bro but would that cause a significant or small noise increase? I mean if 50% speed can solve the problem why don't they just default it?

@leechfever - running fan speed @50% all the time might shorten the life span of the bearing... but u dont have to worry bout that ;D

Sure I don't. By then, I will get myself a better one. dud.

i dun think it would be a good choice, but since you will get a new one later, then just buy it.

I mean by the time the fan wears out it will be like 5 years already. By then would be a good time to get another one.

I think my default fan speed is at 27% but i manually set it to 50% all the time.

Ever wonder why if setting it up to 50% is better, why don't they just default it? I mean for (rich)beginner they might not know this at all and blow their money on coolant that does as good as 50% fan speed config.

Wore out Ball bearing maybe but that just short live their warranty. Not good for business. Possible the noise? How much noise?

Very much similar to my casing fans noise. At 50%, my card idles at around 60C. At default, it's around 70C. At 100% it's about 50C but the noise is probably louder than a vacuum cleaner. tongue.gif

Finally a witness. Thanks bro for clearing that up.
