Hey guys

Any of you have actually flashed another ROM into your TPs yet? Been reading a bit on xda forums, and as mentioned earlier, we even have a Malaysian creating his own ROM (good for u dude!)

I wouldn't mind trying it, hard-spl and all, but my concern would be preserving the stock ROM just in case for warranty, future upgrade purposes. Looking here at

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=427507

it seems awfully technical to dump a stock ROM. Any of you guys done it before? Or maybe sifu Baronic can shed some light smile.gif

Wkho555,

There are some settings in Advanced Config under 'Power Management'. Give it a go and see if it helps!

Soundguy,

That does not sound normal. Even on my first charge when i bought the phone, an overnight charge fully charges it to 100%. Maybe you should consider changing your battery from the place you bought it. Another possibility would be your charger, but i do not know how to prove that it is. Hope others have better ideas
*
u need 3 things to restore warranty.

1. the radio rom.
2. the OS rom
3. The spl.

radio and OS, check htc website see got or not, if got can d. use those.
NOTE: usually the original roms come with radio already inside as well, so they may not be two separate roms

for spl, harder to get, someone has to extract it. i suggest not dumping yourself if u a bit blur in case u screw things up, and open a request spl thread in XDA

selphy,

yeah it is really annoying... will try charge tonight with my 838pro charger. see if that helps.

flashing to another ROM is actually very satisfying. it really brings out the best in your pda phone. however, i think the stock rom is sufficient at the moment...if there is a ROM that has some special features, i will be flashing in a jiffy!

i found that my TP charges very slowly...even though i have gone through a few charge cycles. charged overnight almost 7 hours still only at 89%. only once did it charge to 100%. should it be like this? even my 838pro's extended battery also does not take this long! tongue.gif
*
sounds like a defective battery unable to obtain maximum charge, or your charger unable to push the charge in past 90%.

try with a different pda charger. see if u reach 100%. if yes, charger problem, if not battery problem.

My pouch probably will arrive after Raya from HK. Bought through the net from PDAIR at RM98 plus postage. The best pouch would be Piel Frama from Spain but then again the price start from RM325 a piece! Give it a month - after Raya we shall see nos of shop at LYP sells the case - mainly from Capdase. But cant find PDAIR from LYP though. I bought a dark brown flip top leather pouch. Shall post pics once i got it

Yep I got mine too...bought from the same place as you did =)

Am gonna try it out myself too. I bought myself a black flip pouch =)

initially i was very tempted to flash to ROMeOS² rom but at last i was quite hesitate to do so cos it's merely performance tweak update and some program update, which we can manually DIY our self ! with the proper tweak applied, i would say my TP overall did see improvement by at least 20-30% from the stock rom. i'll wait for the official release rom update from SIS instead tongue.gif

Thanks for the heads up Baronic, and also your replies, old newspaper and nidz. Guess i would also be sticking with my stock ROM for now, and wait for official SIS update. I agree, dumping the rom is not easy (well, for me at least) blush.gif Time to play more with Advanced Config!!
