everyone has google pagerank but its not that important. if you do want to check it there are numerous pagerank checkers... jsut search for it on google search.

You need a lot of good backlink to climb the pagerank ladder.

But don't worry if you have zero or 2. Cause sites like Lowyat with huge followings also got page rank of 3/10.

I used to be pr2, then I changed my domain and went to pr0 for 4 months, after much work put in, I finally got a pr3. Now working for pr4..... ouch, this is going to take a while I think.

working hard also depends on whether other like our blogs to get their backlink which is the key factor that deciding PR..

Just install google toolbar and you will be able to see the PR of the sites you visit. Another good resource is seobook.com

Driving unique visitors (unique IPs) to your site is equally important because this will increase your Alexa ranking. Alexa ranking is as important as PR.

Article marketing can also get your PR up.

Just remember PR doesn't get you traffic.

I have done a few client website with PR0 but get top10 listing in Yahoo and Google. PR and SEO are 2 different thing.

Pagerank, get for fun only. E-penis for the most part.

high pagerank in the past is to sell ads and links, now high pagerank sell stuff also Google penalize.

so end up put there look nice only. the general public couldn't care about your pagerank or alexa rank or technorati rank or whatever - they just want your content.

pagerank does have a role in Google's SERP but it's just 1 out of the soooooooo many other more important factors.

just feel that blog with high PR looks cool although it dun really bring in much traffic, at least can "show off".

But I think Alexa is based on the traffic, the more traffic you have, the better Alexa ranking u will have, which is more practical.

1. show off to who? only the other people who treats Google Pagerank like E-penis would appreciate it. others who don't know what it is, it's just a number that doesn't contribute to their visit.

2. alexa also another E-penis.

in the end, most important figure is # of visitors and # of pageviews. nuff said.

If you say # of visitors and # of pageviews are more important, then Alexa is the one you should look into coz the ranking is based on "average daily visitors & pageviews over past 3 months".

as long as your Alexa ranking is not below 100,000 you can forget about it.........



Alexa will never replace it unless they create something to install on the site.

when i talk about daily visitors and page views - i mean Google Analytics kind of tracking, no matter how new or little traffic, the data is as accurate as the script tracks.

Dude, Alexa can only track site visitors who have the Alexa toolbar installed - how many of us installed that? So it's quite a useless number, except when used to compare the popularity of 2 different websites, i.e. as a relative measurement.

PR used to be important but there's less emphasis nowadays. The PR that you see in the toolbar is not updated - Google has the updated PR internally and use a different scale in ranking websites. You should also look at the relevance of your webpage to the targeted keywords and also geographical location - make use of Google's Webmaster Tool.

Other than that, like someone mentioned above, PR and Alexa is mostly for "shiok sendiri".

I see...my alexa ranking is 166,856 as at today, so it means if it can improve to below 100K then it has "weighs", right?

your blog load a bit slower than usual cause got a lot of javascript flash. don't put in so many of those things. oh, and try not to link to other blogs with low PR. If you must, put it as nofollow links. Try exchanging links with those higher PR one and the ones with the same topic as yours.

My blog PR is 0 but most of my keywords are rank top10 is google.com.my and yahoo.com.my

But then again my blog are just for fun..

Don't pay so much attention of PR.
