thanks man, it is very well explained. So far what i do with page rank is get few strong and quality backlink which related to your niche, and wait for the page rank update.

Em..Livepr doesn't have fake page rank checker.
If I were to sell a fake PR6 here on LYN using livepr would be not practical. Plus you cannot link the result directly. You will need to visit livepr and enter whereas CPR has an option of linking th result example this.
Not to mention I can't seem to get the result from livepr

Anyone having problem with livepr.info to check your domain?

sometimes have problem. usually don't LivePR can check PR for your internal pages. anyway i'm going to update my earlier post.

We call that location as Search Engine Ranking Position @ SERP.
Another useful site you can use to check ur SERp is serprank.com

So thats 2 nice and useful website

i would say higher PR normally just indicates your site is popular, not necessarily good content.

it could be crappy content but just entertaining.



from my observation so far, PageRank is just part of Google's really complex algorithm.

having higher PR doesn't give you higher ranking.

for example, search "pc buying guide" on google.com.my and you see goldfries's PR3 page rank above Cnet's PR6 page.

so clearly PR is not something that makes you rank higher.

see, that's common misconception IMO. No one knows PageRank better than the founder, Google being the founder knows that PR is just a matter of link votes, totally nothing to do with quality content or whether it is an indicator of the result is relevant to the search.

PR is indeed complex. Try same keyword on MSN, Yahoo and Google, they will return different result.

Yahoo and MSN wont return me my blog when I put in some common keyword "Ubuntu 8.10 Coming Soon"

But Google miraculously return the relevant result even tho I posted that entry 6 hours ago...

you mgiht have been lucky, they usually crawl pages every week, for some people every few days.
