I think nortan internet security is the best.... no more adware or spy ware. last time when i did not use it and i run adware, it would detect many unwanted stuff ... but after NIS no more spyware, adware or viruses. NIS... The best!

Hmm, after trying a couple of av, come to the conclusion that kaspersky suite me the most
Reasons + comparison : Bitdefender run 4 ~ 5 system module in the background and consume quite large amount of memory, you can really feel some "lag" when it's being switch on in background
AVG always give me false positive result, causing me to panic and do stupid stuff..
Kaspersky, set it to update manual, and schedule scan at 4am everyday, just works perfectly, and neat no. of system module running in background
--------- for anti-spy/ad
Using 1. zone alarm pro(my thrusted firewall) 2. adware personal 3. spybot 4. spysweeper 5. deleted microsfot anti-spyware, just sucks.......

It will catch you with your first update checking: something like your serial has expired... I have known for a fact that spy sweeper is not easy to be cracked! It is a good antispyware after all. Anyway I am using CounterSpy from Sunbelt Software. It is the best in the market right now. Also the price is very reasonable, $19.95 for one year subscription; compared to other competitor's products, usually between $29 to $40. CounterSpy also received PC World World Class Award in the July 2005 issue! I would say go for it if you are looking for an outstanding antispyware program.

Counterspy does a good job in keeping yr PC clean, but the new version (1.5.77) had been a major disappointment for me, especially when it comes to resource usage. The previous version only takes around 10-20mb of memory, and even with the on-demand scanning, it never reach 30mb, which always a good thing when it comes to slow PC. But this time around, the resource (2 process) took somewhere from 30 to 50 mb of memory, and the CPU usage constantly spikes up to 80% during on-demand scanning.
And even worst, the customer support is not much of a help, with such silly and useless basic Q&A session sorta answer which can be really frustrating when you actually pay for this piece of software.
I haven't been really impressed with the new version of Spy Sweeper either, the whole WSSDK.exe process is a total mind boggling especially in a sense that it done absolutely nothing but just sitting there munching our PC memory.
I rather stick with safe surfing accompanied by sandboxie to keep the malware at bay.

Counterspy, Giant Antispyware and MS antispyware are using the same engine, one of the best engine in the world. But, i doubt it when MS bought it over. Once its under MS, the Anti MS software virues/spyware writers will eventually find holes in the engine itself.
