Guys, i juz wanna ask, i'd read a mag "CHIP" March issue. They awarded BitDefender with Best Performance and Best Value. And it uses 30mb of ram only. Norton InternetSecurity 2005 uses 50mb of ram. My question is, which is the best Anti-Virus software to prevent my machine from viruses?? BitDefender?? Norton?? Or any others??? Pls gimme some opinion, thx guys.

QUOTE(samurai1337 @ Oct 26 2005, 09:23 PM) 30MB? That's a lot... I used AntiVir b4. Not very secure enough cuz im using mIRC daily. I need something which is better. Hmmm.....i think i'll go for Panda or BitDefender.....My Antivir only uses around 10, and I feel quite secure using it too, despite the download size of each update is unreasonably big |

As far as i know, only AVG and AntiVir are free. Maybe out there gonna be some free anti-virus software oso. But to me, AVG sux, last time i used it in my old PC, then i changed to AntiVir, it deteected some viruses on my PC that AVG didnt. So, if ur looking for free Anti-Virus software, AntiVir will suit u. Anyway, i recommend u use non-freeware Anti-Virus such as Kaspersky, Norton(which im using it now), Panda and last but not least BitDefender.

QUOTE(ZhaoYun @ Nov 3 2005, 03:06 AM) Not enough ah??? Then how bout adding Ad-Aware, Spybot S&D and Microsoft AntiSpyware. And Norton change to Panda. And use ZoneAlarm Firewall Pro. Then, i think it's enough... |

QUOTE(Pip_X @ Mar 1 2006, 10:49 AM) To replace Norton, me tried McAfee Internet Security Suite, walanyea updating the suite is really a pain in the a55! haha...yea lor....evertime needs to restart.....fed up oledi....use back NIS 2006 better......haihz...dunno which security suite is the best of the best.......Each of them need to be updated seperately and each update require a restart! Yesterday until not dunno restart how many times already, now still updating QuickClean. And the dem so-called anti-spyware report so many posivite false entries (even the tightVNC, which me need to reinstall it >_<) but failed to clean the stupid "sypwarestrike" trojan eventhough it detect it! Spyware Doctor is wayyyyy better than McAfee's so-called Anti-Spyware... Doesn't really worth the dem price tag of RM220 @#%^##@@$%~!!! |
