well, i did install trial panda platinum edition 2005 on my P3 pc few months ago, uninstall it after few days. It claims to be very low in resources usage.

the main problem is not stable for my windows 98SE. It also slow down my pc performance.(using P3 with 192 ram + Windows 98SE)

Well, haven tested it on any WinXP based pc, maybe it will work fine on WinXP.

now a days new av software is not really compatible with 98se or ME anymore, most of them stable when using winxp system.

i agree with that. for me panda is a very sensitive antivirus. sikit sikit then consider as virus. doh.gif even i use kaspersky cant find any virus but panda can. i wonder how sure they r bcoz kaspersky has better detection rate compare to panda.

bitdefender is very good but scanning time can take ages to complete. this is my experience after testing it.

Ugh .. after using Anti-Vir and AVG, i changed to Kaspersky. Seems like this one works the best for me so far, detecting what Anti-Vir and AVG couldn't. sleep.gif

tell this to the western people around america and they say heck no,

unless ur giving out proofs, usefull advice, statements about this particular antivirus, i'd say every antivirus is the best (suits each different people, people can still say norton is the best if they think it is) [taikoh, next time elaborate, we dunno whats great about kapersky]

Kapersky is strong regarding virus database and stable scan engine, but however its a bit resource hogging

Nod32 did a great job on resource hogging free(scan engine is fast, but not as great as kapersky), but i was wondering, if anyone use an antivirus for protection, why would we want to scan our computer weekly or monthly?

kaspersky the best of virus detection if compare with other antivirus, strong virus database, engine and etc... but as what "up" said, little resource suxker. lolz!

nod32 i use so far so good, other then nod32, what i can recommend is kaspersky only!

but the detection of kaspersky and nod32 i think is quite equal...

do testing between this two av before...

clone a virus effected harddisk

use nod32 and kaspersky scan

1st) kaspersky then nod32

2nd) nod32 then kaspersky

1st result: cleaned
2nd result: cleaned

if ur on high rams,

i suggest not using too much of ur HDD as virtual memory, too me, swapping too much at times might kill HDD

hmm, in my opinion, the most of the antivirus, thier realtime scan is not as efficient(in term of Detecting and Cleaning) as the conventional scan engine. So thats why we still hv to conduct a full system scan weekly or monthly.

well, maybe norton beefed up thier Real Time Scan, thats why it uses up so many resources.
