unless ur giving out proofs, usefull advice, statements about this particular antivirus, i'd say every antivirus is the best (suits each different people, people can still say norton is the best if they think it is) [taikoh, next time elaborate, we dunno whats great about kapersky]

Kapersky is strong regarding virus database and stable scan engine, but however its a bit resource hogging

Nod32 did a great job on resource hogging free(scan engine is fast, but not as great as kapersky), but i was wondering, if anyone use an antivirus for protection, why would we want to scan our computer weekly or monthly?

i suggest not using too much of ur HDD as virtual memory, too me, swapping too much at times might kill HDD

i'm actually only having Avast! and Hardware Firewall for some assurance nia

i used to be paranoid about getting infected ( i have at least 3 anti-bad stuff program running in the background last time, this reminds me of someone that uses McAfee all in one [3 mcafee programs = antivirus, firewall, anti-spyware] )

and then sometime later, i was thinking, do i need all that? its just freaking annoying with all those stuff around

so later i tried using passive protection + firefox instead, well it's actually super good enough

i can search for cr*8cks Se*r*xls without having a single problem even without all those stuffs around

u can try having spyware blaster, spybot s&d (all passive protection) and then hardware firewall with a simple virus scanner (i used avast, cuz i dun want to see an empty taskbar, anyway, the logo seems nice, its not resouce hogging, plus set and forget, why not?) and dun forget to configure ur firefox too, install essentials plug-ins first (like flash etc.) then u turn off "allow websites to install software" i think with firefox ur pretty much set up for everything (still, dun rely on it too much, firefox will still have flaws in it no matter how secure people think it is since its without ActiveX support)


oh, my backups?

oh well, my type of backups might be a bit costly to some people

but here's what i do

i use seperate harddisk (i have two, one for the system, another one for storage, u can try seperate partitions too)

and i used to have a RAM Disc (transfer files in and out, but then getting a DVD-RAM Drive like 4163B isnt neccessary unless u have spare cash to spend on)

so far, i havent got infected with anything, just be wise and know what ur doing, thats it!
