When we chg fan speed..the fan cap will move n adjust into the selected speed position. My kdk has failed to respond to remote, but it's trying to chg speed all the time when turned on, causing the whole fan to shake including its leg( the leg hanging to the ceiling). Is this repairable? Any recommendation for fan installer in Kepong?

You have to swipe the blade to get the balance. It is trial and error. Not difficult job.

Just don't expect things last as long as before. 5 Years for most are consider good. My Panasonic remote fan installed during renovation (2011) still running fine. The Panasonic remote fans in my mom house still running since 2004.

The major problem with remote fans is actually the circuit board (PCB), it get fried easily if your house are prone to surge/lightning, and the most reliable fan will be conventional because it don't have PCB.

The electronic parts always sub to china made. And looking for cheap cheap component. I believe the failure is very high. But seems nothing is improve.

You cannot always think base on luck. That is very difficult judgement to buy a thing.

We have net already. Many information we can gather to buy a thing. Just around here forum is already good to know what we can buy.

Hi all,

Need some help here. I'm using KDK K14X8-GY. Problem is, accidentally bang the fan with a hard piece of wood when the fan was on...resulting in 1 of the blades bengkok (the other 3 blades are ok). Just wondering whether do you know how to go about with this? Any shop that sells new blade since I only need to replace 1 piece? Or should I contact KDK to ask them come replace the blade (new spare-part) for me?  icon_question.gif
*
They is no shop keep spare blade. Just contact KDK to get the spare parts.

I'm having the same problem with my KDK K14X8. First speed quite okay, second and third speed the fan will spin slow and give a loud sound. Any solution to fix this. Or just have to replace to new fan?

I'm looking for a new fan to install at my outdoor kitchen. Looking for a stylish design to compliment the kitchen design, hence KDK is not a choice.

I heard that Alpha and Deka have a lot of problem. How about Milux, is it good? I'm looking for Milux MCF-C112.  Appreciate any feedback from user who use this model. Thanks.

Just wait for it die and get a new 1. I plan for a panasonic and slightly more expensive. I suspect the cheap 1 have a lower quality parts or cheap design part.

The slow and loud sound probably come from the bearing or bush that support the motor shaft. In this case nothing you can do.

Haha... no lar...

Not my living room, actually is my room. Specs wise is one thing, real life usage is another. I even goggled and found that Im not alone with this yuragi myth thing. A lot installed them and found that its really so-so.

Maybe the plastic fin is lighter and it can spin faster than steel blades equipped Bayu series. If I stand directly below it, yeah, I can feel it. However my bed is not directly below it, about 2feet off, and barely felt the wind. Bayu indeed better without a doubt. I think I want the air velocity, not air volume movement. Personally think Bayu is better.

Anyway, I just bought Bayu5 from Lazada. Maybe think I will try to DIY replacement for my Yuragi. Perhaps I can move the yuragi down to my living room for a try and see if the bigger space and taller height helps it perform better.

Will 5 fans consume more electricity than an 1HP aircond? I had 5 fans in my room (not kidding). The useless Panasonic yuragi 4 blades, one panasonic stand to exhaust hot air via window, two wall mounted, and the Mastar for whoever sleeping on the floor.

Its really really cold at times...even had to wake up to turn some off.

You want create tornado in your room ? tongue.gif

The purchased of my 9-year old Panasonic Bayu 3-speed ceiling fan was a regret. It doesn't have auto last fan speed setting memory feature. The fan will reset to default 2nd speed if it was switched off and switched back on again. Very annoying especially at the dinning area and bedroom where I want the default setting at 1st speed. Need to adjust the speed every time I switch on the fan.  The Elmark brand at the living hall, bought about the same time has the memory function. No problem with that.
The latest Panasonic ceiling fan has auto memory of the last fan speed setting or not ?
*
My kdk fan also have such stupid function. Can't memorize the last speed. Next if get a new fan, need to see the spec first. Or check the function available if they have a demo set.

It's not a setting. It's a very useful value added feature.
My Elmark brand at the living hall will switch on at the fan speed I previously switched off. Whereas the Panasonic Bayu at the dinning area doesn't have last fan speed memory feature, Always go back to default 2nd speed whenever the fan is switched on.
The memory feature is very useful if you wish to switch on the fan at a preferred/favourite fan speed.
*
How is the Elmark fan quality? Might change to this in future since it have the memory feature.

Boleh Tahan. 9 year liao still spinning strong.
I think other brand should have last fan speed memory feature, just need to test it out or call the manufacturer SC if dealer can't give satisfactory confirmation.

9yrs is not bad liau. From their website there have wide variety design.

considering these fans are for day to day usage, I'm not gonna put my bet on luck, and therefore going to order this basic panasonic fan for all my rooms, except living hall http://www.panasonic.com/my/consumer/home-...f-m15a0-gy.html

Good luck. The % of having problem is high.

i think u r right. so now all have to invest in ppg material instead of the steel blade type
*
As long as it don't rust, it is ok to me. I prefer steel plate or wood type. It more rigid and believe it won't wooble when swinging. (Blade swing like a wave)

but currently the ppg that i have is ok
just the steel blade corode and some of the paint would peel of if the speed around 5. @@
maybe i should use a scraper to scrap all those paint out.
*
You can't see it. The fan turning at high speed while the blade is wooble. It probably create some sound.

Bad idea. Better just use cloth to wipe it. Scraper too hard on the surface.

Spray paint it?
