when it spin, it will create some sound and a few piece of paint will drop.
clean and peel of some with hand but still the same. more like the paint doesnt 'eat' on the steel
*
Look like the paint have some defect. Or it is the dust and oil a lot on the blade?

If you want to restore the blade paint, you can scrap it and spray paint back. Otherwise if you leave it just like that, it will rust.

I just installed new Panasonic ceiling fan 4 blades less than 1 month. It is terrible coz after 2 weeks installed it comes with rolling noise and after few days there was something "tik-tik-tik" while it spinning occasionally. I had woke up few times during midnight because of this sound suddenly turn loud.

I regret not buying KDK and will replace the panasonic fan with this soon. Who the hell can stand with the noise especially at midnight sleep. It was just 2 weeks and problem occurred, incredible fast. No more Panasonic fan to me.

Panasonic also produce for KDK.

Hi, I'm using using Panasonic F-M14D5 Bayu 5.

The 3 blades perform same strong wind but is better than 3 blade.

Panasonic F-M14C5 is suitable for small rooms.
Panasonic F-M14D5 is suitable for living room as it has wider coverage wind.

What you mean better?

QUOTE(Longshot @ Jul 10 2016, 07:49 PM)
hi,
Need to look for 2 fans to replace my existing ones.

1 unit is for my home office room that has computers.
The fan is on almost 24x7 to cool my desktops.
Currently using Panasonic 4 blade Bayu series and the motor is giving a loud humming noise. Been using it for almost 4 years.

Another unit is KDK fan also 4 blade design and is at the dinning table.
The fan is hardly use as we mostly eat at the dry kitchen area.
However, it has the same humming noise problem as mentioned above.
The fan is only on about 2 times a week and each time for about 1 to 2 hours.
Very disappointed with it. Both fans was bought and installed at the same time.

Any recommendation?
Need a good fan for my home office room.

Btw, anyone tried Haiku fans from bigassfans?
*
It is probably the capacitor problem. You can repair by replace the capacitor. This is quite common problem.

If you looking back for panasonic, look for the DC type. They have the latest type.

Haiku fan is a pieces of art fan. It is a high end fan. It is a DC type fan. Price probably around rm2.2k-2.5k. If you can afford, recommend to get it. It is actually a Malaysian invent.

Hi,
Why is the DC type better?
The cheapest Panasonic with DC motor is the Nami series I think.
*
DC motor more saving. Since Panasonic just introduce DC type, it is in high range. Which the quality is better. But cost more.

I don't no what series they have. I only know the internal parts.

How to change the capacitor and where to buy the parts? Do we call pan or kdk customer service to change this? My fan just bought early this year but has minor humming sound sometimes, at night usually. Sometimes okay.

Just recently repair my KDK fan noisy sound when start to spin.

It will start slow turning and the humming sound. Specially 2nd speed.

After searching some answer from the net and how to repair, I start to open up the fan.

The problem is the few capacitor in the control board. But you need to check it out which capacitor is giving out the problem.

This is the controller board. Unplug the 2 connector and release the 2 hook to take out the board.
user posted image

You need to solder out the capacitor to check the value.
user posted image

Using multimeter (those can check capacitance). This capacity slightly off from the actual value.
user posted image

This wan also out from the actual value.
user posted image

Have total of 3 capacitor is out of the actual value. Go to electronic shop to get the component. Solder back, install back the board. Run like charm. No more humming sound.

Total component cost is below RM10.

You need to have some soldering skill and a multimeter . If you don't have the multimeter, than just solder out all those capacitor indicate and get a new wan. All the capacitor still won't cost you more than RM20.

Check the manual. It got show you how to open the cover.

The cover hide the 3screw inside that mount the center cover. Unscrew it and you can see the board.

Same thing happened to my KDK junior fan before. I mean the annoying humming sound. Will start to have the sound at speed 3 and above.

Send back the fan motor for warranty purpose.

Thanks for the knowledge sharing.
