That's BS of an answer. MCMC, even for the sloth that it is, says we must get at least 70% of our subscribed speed, regardless of technology.

If a person asks me about Amax, 2 months ago I would highly recommend him to apply for it; but for now, I would just say it sucks, just like other isps did.

Damn it i can't even get 1 single day of good service now. Everyday is full of disconnections WTF?

Multiple user CPE doesn't have disconnection problem. Only have download speed slowdown about 50% issue. Suppose to get 1500kbps but only 700kbps.

yes, total BS!!!!! I just tested at Bukit Jalil yesterday 1Mbps can get 1Mbps, newspaper ady say Amax is not gonna cap, it's Cheras, Sri Petaling and Taman Mayang problem la!!!!!!!~~~~~~~aarrrgghhhh~~~~~~

Anyone use Amax at Sunway Area ?Jalan PJS 9/22 ,Do you guys know how to get the coverage ?I've found the coverage is extremely weak ,the download sped is only 20kbps to 30kbps ..Reply are appreciated

When can fix the Cheras area problem, I already few weeks can't use Amax....
1st time using, speed very good, 1mbps. I also recommend my friends to apply it.
But bad dream start from 30-Oct(around that time), i can't connect since that day until now. Even luckily can connect, it show connected, but the result is either it didn't connect to the DNS server or 5 to 10 seconds will drop the line.
Call to amax customer care, the 1300 that one, totally useless, they just keep ask you to restart the modem only, move the modem, please la, I already find the best place in my house already, i even put the modem out the window, it just show like 2 bars signal, and then connecting, and then disconnect and connecting again, keep looping until now.
Really disappointed with their service.

USB Modem

Any difference except the signal receiver is better if using CPE.
Because when I first time use the USB modem I already can get full speed with 2 bar signal(even 1 bar also can get full speed), so I didn't change to CPE modem, but now the modem just keep show 2 bars then disconnect(0 bar), if change to CPE modem sure can help?

If i were you, i will throw the usb modem back to Amax.

Can you throw the usb modem back to Amax just like that? have you signed up for 1 or 2 years contract?
Well, they open on Saturday. You can throw them this Saturday.

Yeap maybe someone is using your account .My friend who doesn't pay the bill yet ,this due to his account unable to connect and he use others account to login ...Your 1 is AMAX modem ?I'm not sure about this ,USB modem user = pass

To those lowyat member who have problem about the connection speed for amax service, i think u don't need to call to CS, because they only say the signal is good not problem, or told u to open the CPE for them to check but when u call to check the status, they will told u that they forget to do the checking... vmad.gif vmad.gif They already call me few time but the problem still not settle yet. Be lucky i'm not stop using streamyx...Better suggestion is made the complaint letter to MCMC vmad.gif vmad.gif
