So anyone have a good multimedia player to recommend?

Cause i saw in the market some come with HDMI output... but those only utilize 3.5" HDD....

Any recommendations?? smile.gif Preferbably using 2.5" HDD one and portable... but 3.5" also can ... as long as the output quality when I put this Hi Def vid file inside is good... smile.gif

I've seen 1080p rips being posted on UseNET

The filesize was insane. ~50GB or something. Too lazy to even bother.

i think normal DVD quality does not even reach 780p(may b just around half of it res)

what cable your multimedia player using? if it is not hdmi ...seem even with HD it will be wasted ....

coz i think i read from somewhere , others cable ( other than hdmi/dvi)
cannot go up to 780p ?

cheapest player seem to be PS3 ? lol .... not sure
but well , it come with HDD and blu ray ROM .... and can play game too ,
hohoho

oh , those 1080p with insane filesize is normally movie i think depend on the length and sound quality? ( for blu ray wad , too many extra space for blu ray, so y not utilize them ? lol)

normal anime will not go up to that , i think 300-500 ...
unless anime movie like appleseed ( will cost around 10Gb too) ? but well , u will feel worthwhile for it to enjoy the audio and graphic ^^"

Normal DVD movies are encoded in NTSC (720x480) compared to HD file that came in 1280x720 for 720p class.

Personally for my eyes rating, i would say 1080p file score 100/100, 720p file score 90/100 and DVD Ori (VOB) file score would be about 80/100 for the same title.

80/100 for DVD is too generous.. should be 50-60/100 subjectively (for me)

if count pixel information it will be 5-6times lower than 1080p...

of coz, depends on what kind of TV you got.. if you got 854x480 early Gen PDPs then not much diff between DVD and HD 720/1080. since the screen can't display all the information from the source.. if you got 1080p projector blown up the 120inches screen. then DVDs will look kinda of sucky even if sitting 6-7feet away..
