1. Not possible. The PS3's HDD drive slot is 2.5", obviosly a 3.5" cannot be inserted not alteast with some modification.

2. No difference at all really. I'm using a RM25 HDMI cable that I got from Jalan Pasar since begining of the year and not once has it gave me a single problem yet.

I already said, theres no difference at all. I have both the Sony official HDMI cable that I got free and the RM25 one I bought. Tested both, and theres no difference. Not atleast to my eyes.

There are guides to insert a 3.5" HDD into a PS3. It is however not really recommended even so. Yes a 3.5" HDD is so much hell alot cheaper than a 2.5". But by doing so, you not only void your warranty but also increase the amount of heat, vibration and noise in your PS3.

So in a way, its not worth taking the gamble.

Good luck finding HDMI switches in Malaysia, they're pretty rare here and usually come at a very high price point.

An optical cable of course.

If you use an A/V receiver which has HDMI, then you can just use a HDMI cable.

An A/V receiver is a pass-through decoding machine for your surround speakers.

Depends on how much you are going to sell your 40GB. I'm rather sure that you will not be able to sell it anymore than RM1100 or so, even that price is a lil stretch.

The core-80GB for Malaysia is about RM1550-RM1600 currently, so you'll still need to plunge down RM300-RM400 atleast for the new model.

What you get basically, is just warranty from Malaysia. Personally, I say keep that RM300+ and buy a bigger HDD for your current PS3 instead.

Thanks bro for your reply... so what if there is something wrong with my ps3? If i send it any gameshop, can it be trusted? Because i'm afraid if there is problem with my lens or other parts, they will replace it with a non-genuine lens.... (is there such thing? blush.gif )

tq

If its lens problem, you can always send it to a gameshop. Send it reliable shops for that matter. PSZone does repairing lens for PS3 and I've heard so far that they are extremely reliable. I've never bought anything from them so I can't be the judge myself here.

There are non-genuine lens around, Imbi Plaza is swarmed around with it, atleast thats what I heard.

But in any case, just take good care of your PS3 and spend that extra RM300+ you'll need to splurge out somewhere else.
