Is there any difference between optical output and HDMI.
I'm planning to buy an AV receiver, but only manage to find a deal of the item, but no HDMI connection. Only optical. Will I be able to experience true surround while watching Bluray movies, if I connect the audio using optical connection. Anyone know where I can check local price for AV receiver. Any websites? QUOTE(slickz @ Oct 3 2008, 09:29 PM) as far as I know, the ps3 can't get virus since virus is a type of rogue code. If viruses were possible on the ps3, that means the ps3 has been hacked. TQ. So no worry if surf or plug in usb drive. But, better be safe - scan it first.Has the ps3 been hacked? I don't think so, otherwise you'll see bootleg games for ps3 available. Additionally, most viruses are written for the windows and DOS platform. The PS3 OS definately does not run on windows/DOS. Much like how the mac has far fewer viruses (if any) than windows. One more question, is it possible to set a password, so other people cant access the PS3, even he turn it on.. |

QUOTE(Cyphereza @ Oct 5 2008, 11:13 AM) Thanks. I already check it. The password that I meant is like a logon password. Just like Windows. Can set password before can login. Can PS3 do that? I'm leaving my PS3 at home. I dont want my anyone use the PS3. I already check certain site, they all said can not. So, I guess, the answer is can not. |

QUOTE(acougan @ Oct 5 2008, 11:02 PM) kerollowyat, the password can only protect ur PSN account from logging in .... u afraid your housemates use your PS3 when u not around w/o your permission? tip: take your DS3 or all your games in a CD folder with u when u go out True2..I dont want anyone to use or even turn it on, when I'm not around. I'm thinking of hiding the power cable. So, can not turn it on. |

QUOTE(acougan @ Oct 5 2008, 11:17 PM) the power cable is standard though, anyone can use a replacement cable. can install CCTV for 24/7 surveillance aiyarkk..can not la install CCTV... Hopefully in the future, there will be option to put password. In the next firmware update. It's not only friend, my "anak buah" is my biggest concern. They always mess up thins that dont belong to them. Even the game disc, I also concern. I told them not to, they said ok. But then, they do it.. |

QUOTE(GamersFamilia @ Nov 21 2008, 03:54 PM) you know where to get one. my tv rack easily build up with dust. if a PC I can put fan filter. But for PS3, dont have one.Plus, I dont want anyone to touch it. If can not get made one, might need to make it custom. |

Now can not, play certain .avi files. Not sure if this something related to the firmware. Maybe the video got problem. |
